Knox M (it) wrote: This film is so unfulfilling in its story, so dull in atmosphere, and lame in script that the best I can give it is down the middle. Even with a limited budget Godard could have at least tried to make it feel like sci-fi, but no. He can't even make a good noir. There is okie-dokie satire and I don't mind the changing of tones but this film is just horribly uninteresting.

I thought the chronological version (rather than jumping from present into past and back) version was much more powerful than the theatrical version; however, I could never find that chronological version for a purchase. It is a very powerful and emotional movie. I am always interested in how little things or life events define who we are, and this is a movie about that... To me, this is one of the best movies every made.
jesse p (au) wrote: Well what do I say I found it to be boring and predictable but it did work better then most slasher films. Don't go in the house a bad film and no it has nothing to do with don't go in the woods the film is about Danny and his obsession with fire when he was little his Mum use to burn his arm over the stove. Know that his is older he works at a crematoriums and one day he watches his Co-worker catch fire he just stands there watching him burn. So he goes home in a state of shock and relises his mother has just passed away. Well I found the story line very predictable and wired in Meany ways this is based on Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho. He would bring women home and burn them alive with his home made flamethrower. Cool idea just poorly done. The acting was nothing special very average sometimes it would be great other times they don't even relies what they are saying. I have also found some facts about this film 1 This was the first ever film available on DVD that very surprising. 2 This film was condemned as a video nasty but the ban was lifted because of the DVD of this film being the only one so far But in australia here this film is only M not sure why. 3 The film was based on Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho just Meany aspects of it. 4 The scene were the first women is burned alive is conceded one of the strongest acted of violence's ever in a film. Overall I didn't really like the film but I do recommend this if you love horror or thriller films but cool poster the film has.
