Some of the worst camera handling to hit the action genre (Think the bourne movies but if a 14 year old was directing). Feels more like a weekend adventure in windows movie maker than an actual theatrical release film.

And ultimately we put ourselves and our situations into our work consciously or subconsciously. The film has excellent pacing, but you can't help but feel it has a slight bit of a student'ish edge to it. Some design and directorial choices *primarily with shots & sound design* come out being ON THE NOSE, but it's quirky aspects are very unique and welcoming. The aesthetic of it is very smart and meaningful, with the montages coming off as if he's editing a trailer of his life/the film he's working on....a Lost In Translation set in Europe and the 1969/1970 change-over.9/10

Many people complain about the propoganda involved, but I didn't notice it watching the film.I just saw a very interesting character study into rural China and it's education system.Huge props to the cast, all consisting of amatuers, for bringing this film to live in an extremely servicable fashion.See this film. It's definitely worth it.

Chevy Chase is at his best in this movie and Randy Quaid also has a memorable role in this as well. This is one Christmas movie that should be passed on to newer generations and not be forgotten.
