When a director is able to make it enjoyable and complex, the biggest part of the work is done. In this case, there was also a great cast to complete everything. A thought that came to me when I was watching it is that it would be very funny if in our real live we should behave as actors in front of a camera when lighting a cigarettes, getting up from the bed, or making other things with a lot more emphasis than they should. Just a funny thought I had.

The animation might not be as astounding like in other Studio Ghibli productions but fits the tone of the story perfectly. It managed to keep me engaged with it's likeable characters and beautiful animation.

Fouad Mikati delivers Operation: End Game in his directorial debut. The storyline for this picture is fairly straightforward and nothing special overall; however, the script is marvelous and there is a fantastic blend of comedic content. The acting is nothing special, but Rob Corddry (Hot Tub Time Machine) delivers an outstanding performance. The cast also includes Ellen Barkin, Maggie Q, Joe Anderson, Zach Galifianakis, Jeffrey Tambor, and Ving Rhames. "I'm nine and a half, uncut." Operation: End Game was a movie I came across while looking for Maggie Q films to DVR. I didn't expect much from this picture and was pleasantly surprised by the comedic content. The movie starts with a lot of promise and contains several great action scenes; however, the end was disappointing and typical for the genre. Overall, this is an above average action genre picture but does not fulfill its full potential. "I drink as much as I do because every day is Christmas." Grade: C+

The flick starts a bit slowly, but when the action picks up, its a decent little slasher cult film (meaning cult of slashers, not cult classic). It's also got Gunnar Hansen, the world needs more Gunnar Hansen. If you don't like your flicks on video, stay away. If you don't like low-budget production values, stay away. If you don't like blood and boobs, definitely stay away.

Mainly because her psychotic and deformed sister, who owns an equally violent dog, is planning of paying her a visit. There are some undeiniably creepy moments in Madhouse, such as when one of Julia's friends encounters Julia's sister and her devilish dog in the apartment hallway, but it's not always peaches and cream. Even though most of the film is interesting, well shot, suspenseful, and surprisingly classy for an Italian slasher offering, a criminally overlong chase sequence involving Julia's landlady wears thin quickly with the actress overacting her way through the scene, screaming in a high pitch and whining to little effect. The macabre ending which features a demented birthday party full of corpses is more than a tad reminiscient of a similar scene in the wonderful Happy Birthday To Me, which was released the same year. Hmmmmm??? Despite a few minor flaws, Madhouse is an extremely watchable, mature, and refined slasher/thriller with some good performances and creepy moments. It's well worth a horror fans time!

Mike E (kr) wrote: This will come off as hyperbolic, but this is one of the worst written, worst acted, worst photographed & worst directed non-student film I have ever seen. There were brief moments of promise in the first act, but they amounted to nothing. The high score from critics is baffling.
Alejandro R (ca) wrote: "It's all about the information."As if the film anticipated how much more true that would become in the future. 22 years later and we see evidence of it now more than ever before.Despite that one line having lasting impact, the rest of the film really doesn't. There's something about it that just seems too dated for its own good. It's not the older tech of the film, b/c "War Games" is even older (1985) and that holds up much better. It's just this film doesn't have the stellar quality in terms of the performances despite the talent brought together for it.
