Spencer K (it) wrote: Equity brings a fresh take on the Wall Street film by having it be based around women, and it works very well. It has a nuanced and timely plot along with a sharp script and direction and excellent performances from its cast. Anna Gunn is the standout here and she gives a truly mesmerizing performance. It's often thrilling and always entertaining.

Mike V (kr) wrote: This is an interesting biopic telling the story of Edith Piaf, featuring an outstanding performance of her by Marion Cotillard. I would have preferred a more linear approach but the last section is strong and the final song stirring. No regrets. 1001

Any film that has Asano in it is worth a look in my book, but his presence distorts the balance of this movie...for goodness sake...its Asano....if he could turn down the charisma, I'd believe in his character. And Shunji Iwai covered this ground in the extraordinary Lilly Chou-Chou. Overall, this is not a bad movie, it just seems a little pointless.

I'm willing to bet less than 80 minutes. any real person would have stepped out after three minutes of creepy Kiefer Sutherland voice and gotten shot. END OF LINE. P.S. It's a thrilling action packed joy ride that has it's highs and lows. We see main enemies and allies from the game as well as a fun energetic plot. The execution could have been a lot better, overall it was good but so much could have been changed or added to make it a success.

Jason T (au) wrote: Dirty grandpa does manage to have a few laughs in it but overall it's a comedy that really trys desperate to have that R rating. Robert De Niro and Zack Efron have good chemistry together and they work well and the movie does deliver some decent jokes. But the script is paperthin and feels like a bunch of SNL skits taped together. Not all of the jokes work and some of the minor characters are a bit wasteful.
