Holly R (ru) wrote: Skateland lacks direction. Right from the get-go, there seemed no purpose to this film. Until Brent's death, it felt like watching a bunch of boring people go about their boring lives. Ashley Greene's character needed more bite to her - she needed to be far more interesting and even more driven to contrast to Ritchie's lack of. Their relationship as was wasn't believable or meaningful. There were some beautifully shot scenes, but that couldn't make up for the lack of story line and average script. Skateland is an average film with an above average soundtrack. Thank God for Brent's death and the aftermath (Is that a weird thing to say?) because without that, this film would be even more lost.

Prashanth R (jp) wrote: Loved the way the movie portrayed events as seen through the eyes of an innocent, naive child. We as the audience know only what Javi knows but are able to infer more given our higher degrees of maturity. Beautiful story and well-directed.

Justin O (ca) wrote: Someone should blow up Disney for making this awful sequel.

Joshua D (de) wrote: There are some pretty great scenes--subtle yet potent.

Jon H (ru) wrote: On one hand, the cast seems fairly capable. On the other, the film is wretchedly scripted, directed, and shot. The lighting budget must've covered two or three flashlights.

christian d (ag) wrote: There is obviously a lot to admire here, but I found this to be a film that's easier to admire than enjoy. It's very well acted and directed with some great moments, but it didn't blow my mind

Jesse R (br) wrote: This was a very interesting film, and it does start out kind of slow. This movie kind of reminds me of the Indian In The Cupboard, which was a published book from 1980 and also a movie in 1995.

Charles P (es) wrote: This has got to be the weirdest catfight to come out of Hollywood in the 1950's. Come on, who doesn't think that Vienna and Emma Small really want to get into each other's britches. All they do is glower at each while talking about their supposed men, Johnny Guitar and the Dancing Kid (who spurned Emma, that douche). They may talk about the boys, but the hatred spewed, especially by Emma, makes me suspect some serious self loathing going on due to some 'unnatural thoughts.' The lesbians of the day must have had a great time with this flick!

Brandon W (nl) wrote: This is a movie for History buffs. It is well made, well acted and very suspenseful, but I can see somebody who likes all those things walk away from this movie disappointed because they didn't understand all the politics and history of the story. For someone like me who is very interested in Nazi Germany history and any World War II history in general, I understood what Tom Cruise was talking about when he talked about the SS and what a "coup" was. For someone who just wants suspense and gets lost in history and political *trigger warning* mumbo jumbo, then I'd say skip this movie. You can find suspense elsewhere. For history buffs, this is a good movie to check out. Nowhere does it compare with some of the other great films that tackled the subject of Nazis, but it is a welcome addition to the World War II club. Tom Cruise is always fun to watch and Bryan Singer really brought in a ton of heavy weight actors to fill the rest of the cast. A solid movie. Check it out!
