David W (es) wrote: Overall its just too generic and tame, which is surprising considering the directors previous film "Evil Aliens" is a masterclass in crass, excessive, bizarre insanity and low budget gore. The fact it should have been that much better just makes it more disappointing.

STCENTERPRISE (gb) wrote: I like Sidney Poitier's role in this film. The music even for the period's time was not the best but rather mediocre. I found it interesting how England's public schools are so disobedient and I had no clue that they have no capability to enforce capital punishment. That surprised me. I thought Sidney Poitier presented a kind of character which you don't see much of in that day. Thill that point I don't think films had never presented a male African character as a teacher and placed in England. It was a new concept to many. Also Sidney Poitier's teaching style was a new idea to be presented in films of the day. Although Sidney Poitier did a good job I like the teachers that are presented in The Dead Poets Society and Mr. Holland's Opus better.

Stella D (kr) wrote: a great little known gothic thriller with a pretty neat plot device: discordant sounds send a composer into a homicidal trance! with laird cregar, george sanders and linda darnell as the femme fatale. shot in gorgeous noir style with a wonderful score by bernard hermann

Anat A (ca) wrote: A well crafted little film worth watching for the tender and passionate scenes between Carole Lombard and Cary Grant.

Carlos Z (ru) wrote: Good action, but the cover of the DVD is very deceptive.

Barney o (us) wrote: WHAT I LIKED: An amusing take on spy spoofs, 'Johnny English' is a lot of fun. This is mainly thanks to Rowan Atkinson who takes his every role onto the next levelWHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: It suffers from an over-abundance of silliness that makes it so unbelieveable you occassionaly struggle to laugh (for example, the entire ending sequence) You have no care for the mission or the character as it lacks overall convictionVERDICT: A funny but mostly ridiculous spy spoof
