Dann M (jp) wrote: Green Lantern: First Flight explores the origins of one of DC's hallmark characters in an animated adventure. The story follows test pilot Hal Jordan as he's recruited into the exclusive Green Lantern Corps., and training by its leader, Sinestro, to be a guardian of the galaxy against the evil forces that threaten it. Featuring an impressive cast that includes Victor Garber, Tricia Helfer, Michael Madsen, and Kurtwood Smith, the voice work is quite good. However, the artwork and designs aren't that impressive or vibrant. Still, it's action packed and the storytelling is quite strong. A little underwhelming but thoroughly entertaining, Green Lantern: First Flight is another solid feature from DC Universe.

It's impossible to classify within traditional cinematic genres - perhaps the best way to describe it would be that it resembles a 19th century vaguely allegorical snuff film, excavated after having been lost in a peat bog for 150 years. Whether or not you'll get anything at all out of it depends on personal suggestibility, similar to hypnosis. If you are willing and capable of surrendering completely to Begotten for its 78 minute running time, the otherworldly images and noises will absorb you and leave you a little stranger than you were before. If not... you'll probably have switched it off within the first 10 minutes or so.

Shaun B (nl) wrote: This is a classic in my opinion. The messed up relationship between Iris and Frank gets weirder and weirder as the film progresses and Frank becomes less obsessed about caring for his girl more obsessed on finding the right new one. Unfortunately he's as flighty as a bachelor and can't have a consistent love for anyone except Anna and Iris. Overall it's a good film with it's well done gore, the atmosphere of people casually killing and dismembering people, and way of creeping you out with this triangle relationship.

Russell S (it) wrote: Sure the story is pure fantasy and a little contrived but this movie has so much going for it. The perfect actress in the lead role, some excellent and exciting action sequences, truly fun characters and cool cinematography. Pure fun - even if I still don't quite understand some of the time related elements to the plot.
