Stella D (mx) wrote: my attention span isn't the best and i often have trouble sitting through a 90 mins film so it was with some trepidation that i approached mariano llinas' 4 hour argentine epic, but i needn't have worried. this unique, amazing film has now become my favorite road movie. and it's much more than that. some compare it to a novel, by the likes of pynchon or borges, but it explodes narrative conventions in indescribable ways, without ever losing the audience. interweaving the stories of three men in a number of genres (thriller, romance, adventure, war film) with wonderful music selections, the film was made extremely low budget by this film professor and his students and became a sensation on the festival circuit but as yet has no dvd release in any english speaking country. however it's the most entertaining thing i've seen in ages and i could easily watch four more hours of this. mysterious and wonderful and unlike anything else you've seen. also the date should be 2008

Marco P (au) wrote: I like this kind of commedia italiana. and actually when in actors there is a lot of the movie directors characters come out so "vividly true".This movie is true and that's probably what makes it so far from what I hate so much: fictions.Especially when movie directors are the characters themselves the result is great. Some examples? Mel gibson, Woody Allen, Clint Eastwood.

Ryan B (br) wrote: Depp is the only saving grace of this misfire. I wouldnt ever call El Mariachi or Desperado high art, but they at least were cohesive on a visual level and knew what they were going for. This one is all over the place. Banderas is hardly in the movie, the plot has no tension as we really dont care for the characters. And the action was poorly paced this time around. One of the road fight scenes felt like it took years, even though it was supposed to be very quick. And Salma Hayek was really not even in the movie. Just predictable flashback scenes. If your gonna direct an epic in scope movie about politics, CIA, and cartels. At least spend some money and make it look like a Hollywood film. No, explosions and slow mo dont do that automatically. The visuals had no weight/ It felt cheap and rushed. I know thats Rodriguez's thing, but it didn't work here. Pass this one unless your a diehard Rodriguez fan.

Marie M (ru) wrote: Underrated and understated for most of the way, it suffers a bit under Kelly's overambitious redemption act, an unmitigated result of then war-time sentiments. Still, the chemistry between the leads is better than anything Fred Astaire stirred up with Ginger Rogers, and their dance duet to the title song is absolutely charming.
