Glenn R (jp) wrote: Disturbing. Also amazingly well done. Like everyone else I thought that Uwe Boll was a hack, hell that may still even be true, but watching the original Rampage changed my perception a little. The follow-up (Rampage: Capital Punishment) could have been a cheap and tacky sequel like so many we have seen before, but it isn't. If anything it ramps up every disturbing nuance of the first move. It's almost a horror movie, but it doesn't need gore to horrify you. You start wondering why you want Bill to win, knowing that he's a psychopathic monster. His execution of innocent people shown matter of fact, almost as if you share in his indifference to the carnage. The lead actor Brendan Fletcher, takes the character even further along that twisted but logical path. Many will hate this movie because it's just too raw and too real and I don't mean that by the depiction of gore. Ironically there is little gore in this move. The horror comes from something much worse.Against all odds, I consider the Rampage movies to be modern classics. The lead actor and the director have collaborated to make something totally new with the two Rampage movies. Something exceptional and pretty damn brave. We all have friends that rant and rave at various governments just as Bill Williams does. To think that someone could take it to this extreme and 'Go Postal' isn't really that much of a leap, and perhaps that more than anything else, is the most horrifying fact of all.

Wes S (nl) wrote: Dark, grey, grim, and lacking. The effects are typical for a low budget movie, while the plot is weird but not exciting. Some nasty gore, dull dialog, and generic cliched twists. The action doesn't stand out, even with the poor characters.

Timo V (us) wrote: Umm.. What the hell did I just watch? Honestly, out of these three stories the first one is not very special, second one (yes, the one with the creature with a huge penis) is just plain what-the-hell-happened-to-you-and-why-did-you-wanted-to-share-it-through-movie and the third one (the dog-stuff) is quite solid. Ridiculously bad-quality picture especially in the night sequences, though...

Jonathan P (gb) wrote: I love King and this was fairly true to the short story, but it was really corny and left you hanging a bit too much at the end. The camera production was horrid during the explosions that occur and the acting was way below par. Even with the flaws though this movie is watchable but don't expect much or you will be expecting too much.

No perca tempo! Nem as cenas de sacanagem valem alguma coisa!

Jared S (gb) wrote: Great debut from Soderbergh. Films form first time directors always inspire and amaze me - the talent and skill of a clear vision is apparent as each scene is well crafted while other scenes truly resonate. It's an interesting examination of how little people know about what surrounds them.

Aj V (de) wrote: This is a sweet romantic sci-fi movie with some good actors, and I enjoyed it, but the dialogue is pretty bad most of the time and the story isn't as good as it could be. Overall, it's pretty good, though, and like I said, I enjoyed it.

Andy P (it) wrote: With it's star-studded cast and sumptuous visuals, this hugely ambitious picture is one of the biggest and best movie Westerns, and one of the last great epics to come from MGM.

Rick R (ca) wrote: I Live In Fear (1955)I finally got a chance to see this film from Turner Classic Movies, although I believe that it may be a part of the latest Akira Kurosawa box sets that is out now. If you get a chance to see this, don't miss it, because it is a good movie. It has all of Kuraswa's stock actors, so lots of familiar faces here and some great acting, especially by Toshir Mifune who plays a middle aged man.Doctor Harada (Takashi Shimura) is a dentist who volunteers as a mediator for the Domestic Courts. He is brought into an interesting case. A family wants to commit their patriarch, Kiichi Nakajima (Mifune) before he ruins the family business and tears the family apart.Kiichi is very fearful of atomic radiation and the hydrogen bombs that are being used and tested across the planet. He invested quite a bit of money into building an underground home in the northern islands only to find that there's even more radiation up there closer to the Soviet Union. Now, he's trying to invest in a farm in Brazil and the plan is to move all of his family (and even his two ex-mistresses and their families) to the Amazon, something that the family has no interest in doing. On the surface it seems kind of ludicrous. On the one hand, why can't a guy sell his business and move to where ever he pleases? On the other hand is Kiichi's fears very unfounded? He had so many people depending upon him that he couldn't desert them.I think we were still in the Korean war and had air bases all over Japan which made Japan an easy target for Soviet or Red Chinese bombings should they chose to do so. Or even the radiation drifting from a U.S. bomb being exploded in Communist China or the U.S.S.R. Remember, the U.S. was considering using smaller H-Bombs in North Korea. The early fear of nuclear annihilation was a reality that was just beginning to be realized.Dr. Harada is very understanding and sympathetic and unsure how unreasonable Kiichi really is, under the circumstances. But, perhaps Kiichi's paranoia was going one step beyond the norm. This was an interesting story that was told very un-politically. A very good movie.

Andrew M (mx) wrote: Too dismal, but Steiger succeeds greatly as the curmudgeonly widower. The flashback imagery is shrewdly conveyed via match cuts and parallel editing that surely will cause emotional fusion. The post-production sculpted the raw footage into a filmic gift that would've otherwise been mundane and lifeless. The subplots all trail back to the matter at hand: Sol's despair and unfaith in business, society and family. One of those "sad but true" cinematic masterworks.
