JY S (it) wrote: Apparently, it takes two to direct The Four; however, both Gordan Chan and Janet Chun can't put together a masterpiece of any kind. For an investigative type of story, The Four requires attention to keep from getting lost. It isn't so much for the twists and turns, but more because of the less than stellar storytelling. From the get go, there are a number of characters to keep track of and there aren't enough plot details to help along the way. Things do eventually stabilize though.Regarding the characters in this picture, the action becomes a bit of letdown. It has its moments, but there is definitely room for more. The use of CG is also decent, with maybe a little overuse.Deng Chao's flat performance and character hurts this film a lot. Thankfully, Ronald Cheng is there to liven things up. Yifei Liu also ends up with an emotionless character, but she is more tolerable than Deng Chao. Besides, she ends up with the best fight of the picture. The Four isn't a bad film by any means. It does have its disappointments, but it also has a good enough story, characters, and action.

James H (nl) wrote: Girl, Interrupted is a brilliantly directed film with spectacular performances and a good soundtrack. Winona Ryder is good and her character, along with everyone else, was interesting and likeable. But it's Angelina Jolie who is in scintillating, Oscar winning form as a psychotic whirlwind who steals every scene she is in. The best performance of her career for sure. The screenplay helps of course and the underlying themes make the final act hit harder than it would otherwise.

Art S (mx) wrote: Seijun Suzuki's Tokyo Drifter takes a generic yakuza plot and embellishes it into a sixties pop art confection with brightly colored costumes and sets, swinging music (including a few moments where the characters break into the theme song about drifting). The whole thing verges into camp while the existential hero, bound by loyalty to his boss but cut loose from the disbanded gang, plays it straight. Yet for all of its surface pleasures, I found the film strangely uninvolving, as if the audience were being kept at arm's length so as better to marvel at the wackiness. In other words, I wanted to like it more.

Jessica M (mx) wrote: This is seriously one of my favorite Disney movies, I love how they make Milo a nerd and Kida really awesome instead of having Milo be the hero to rescue the damsel in distress. The design is absolutely beautiful as well, everyone I know who's seen it loves it.

David S (us) wrote: This was the most horrible comedy I've ever seen. I actually felt sorry for Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell and cant understand what they were going for. It wasn't funny and a lot of it was just a predictable cliche. Don't get me wrong I think a spoof of the old 60s Betwiched was a fantastic idea but this was just terrible. I wasn't expecting them to copy the old Bewtiched and I wasn't watching it with any expectations other than the premise of a witch getting hitched with a human. It's just that the script was a big fail, the jokes were bland, and it was just another predictable Hollywood crank out film.
