Although HBO's "Oz" t.v. show has taken everything in this film and run like hell with it, this is still one of the darkest and most harrowing prison films I've ever seen. Not a feel good film.

It's also one that I would not mind seeing a sequel (or reboot) of. Seems like there could have been a lot more to explore. Still, it is a great 80's movie.
