Ben S (nl) wrote: Tough drama set in the grim underworld of Argentina(TM)s insurance trade, where shady ~lawyers(TM) sniff out accidents like Caranchos (Vultures) in the hope of legally representing the victims and claiming the majority of their payouts. The narrative centres on Sosa, a once legit lawyer now chasing ambulances for cases, and Lujn, a young paramedic new to the corruption of her profession. Both are lonely characters, and both retain a degree of mystery. Performances from the two leads are solid, and the narrative is left to gradually develop without being spelt out " but at times it feels on a par with a higher end TV movie, as opposed to a cinematic release; but this is due to the claustrophobic nature of the cinematography. It is mainly set at night under the orange glow of streetlights, and there are barely any wide shots. It is this atmosphere of the film that imprints on you more than the story and you feel like you(TM)ve been through the hospitals and backstreets of the city. That being said there is a fantastic degree of tension in the final reel, and as the characters make a rare switch to daylight you are fully invested in the outcome " and the hope of better days and redemption.

On the whole provides more than a few chuckles. Daniel Craig was quite funny as Guy Crouchback. I think that a familiarity with Evelyn Waugh's "Sword of Honor" trilogy of novels helped me to better appreciate the biting satire of the piece, including some of the more subtle points of the story that the film seemed to just gloss over, for example, what exactly the sword of honor refers to.

Riccardo G (de) wrote: Absolutely incredible! So evocative. I have felt many feelings during these 38 minutes. My only negative point would be that sometimes the narrative becomes too hard to follow which forced me to rewind and watch again what happend. Fortunately this was only rarely and absolutely worth it.
