(nl) wrote: What a weird but strangely compelling film. I didn't want to like it at times but it managed to always keep you intrigued as to just what the Hell was going on. It's not quite as good as Wheatley's previous film 'Kill List' but it still shows you that he is a director making difficult but interesting films, even if at times completely bizarre.

Dempsey plays a love sick American college student who goes to Montreal to visit his Canadian girlfriend and her family. Though this movie kept my interest, I didn't think it was a great movie, but an ok one. What I did like, was the touching scenes with Dempsey and "Granny".
(nl) wrote: Trying to renew the genre this film has some interesting ideas but plays too much on the cliche of the genre to be completely successful. Still it's entertaining and i bet you'll get some good chills down your spine.

(it) wrote: The very first American movie to feature the Nazi's. Released about two years before American entry into World War II. Allegedly, much industry resistance to it because: a) It didn't portray all the good things Hitler had done for Germany and Germans, and b) It could hurt European film distribution for the studio. They made it anyway.

(au) wrote: "The greatest adventure history has ever revealed."I revisited National Treasure after 11 years. I remembered watching, enjoying it when I was a kid and thought it would be interesting to see if it was how I remembered. No. What we have here your standard Hollywood adventure, tailor made so the whole family can enjoy the bullshit. Benjamin Gates comes from a family of treasure hunters. The treasure he is looking for is the greatest to ever exist. It was fought over for thousands of years, before the Knights Templar made a splinter society called the Freemasons, who decided that the treasure was too great for any one man. So they hid and left very obscure and ridiculous clues to keep the treasure from completely disappearing. Gates is on the trail, as his family had been before him. Soon he has the FBI after him, along with some ex-teammate gone rogue treasure hunters. There's not much to say about the movie. While being terrible, it is moderately fun, especially if you're under the age of 12. It's a shame that this type of movie only muddies the water of true history, especially the true history of the Knights Templar and the Freemasons.

(ru) wrote: Just when I thought I was safe from bad movies( after watching "One Missed Call" I find this little gem that would make Ed Wood Proud! I mean this movie does not even belong In a MST3K episode. It is so bad that you cannot even riff on it. The story of course if you read the sypnosys follows two couples in search for the whereabouts of MIchale Rockafeller. You spend and hour and 15 minutes watching these idiots arguing about not waking up on time to continue the"trek" or about who is screwing who. and just when you think the movie starts to pick up pace....guess what?...ITS OVER! Credits roll end of movie. IT is a disapointment. Specially since the producer is Gale Ann Hurd who produced classic films like Terminator. But then again she brought us Armageddon. But I dont blame her for that one. I blame Michael bay and Now director and TV show Creator JJ Abrams for that fiasko. Giving this movie Half a star is actually me neing kind. There were some gory moments but not enough for me to recomend. If you are going to make a movie about cannibalism..DONT WAIT TILL THE END! I am done.
