Timothy J (ca) wrote: Probably one of the best of John Wayne's later westerns. John Wayne plays more if a grandfatherly figure. The story is built on the relationship between John Wayne and a group of school boys he needs to hire to drive his cattle. The film takes a courageous step to kill off John Wayne prior to the end of the movie. Bruce Dern plays a classic bad guy.
