Simon H (au) wrote: You look at the cover and you gain your first impressions of the film. That is pretty much it. The acting is only just acceptable from a few characters. The story is poor, with the whole film based on the army and the marines trying to kill the dinosaurs. This film came out three years after 'Jurassic Park'. Instead, this film looks to have come out 13 years before 'Jurassic Park'. The dinosaurs costumes are so poorly made, and i do mean costumes. There are obviously people dressed up, and this film makes no attempts at hiding this. A scene when a dinosaur runs down a corridor is created in a way, in which it looks like someone is riding the creature. The is one good thing, which comes out of this film. The short running time. At only 1 hour and 15 minutes, it doesn't waste too much of your life, but still try to avoid it altogether.

Eric H (de) wrote: Interesting movie, an extended version of one of the episodes from 'dekalog', but I like it better at an hour as opposed to 1 1/2. That said, it's quite a bleak film - virtually none of the characters have any redeeming qualities to it whatsoever. The only likable person is the lawyer. The message is pretty single minded; I would venture to say that most of Kieslowski's communist-era films as a whole speak out boldly against the degeneration of the human condition under state oppression. An interesting topic, and certainly a film that's difficult to watch. If this film interests you, see 'bez konca' (no end) which features grazyna szapolowska in a spectacular role.

Ken S (de) wrote: This classic so-bad-its-good Christmas movie is far more entertaining than the other well known Christmas movie in the same vein, "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians." The reason this works better is that you can tell it was made with a bit more care and imagination. It is certainly weird, but some strange aspects are most likely due to cultural differences, as this was made for Mexican kids, and like every country I am sure that their version of Santa varies from our version. Still there are some things that are just plain weird...like the lip machine...and Merlin. See it with some friends or check out the MST3K version, it can be a fun weird movie for the holidays.
