Gareth M (it) wrote: Intially on first viewing of this was my biggest gript was that it say "Midlands" set in Nottingham, and yet doesn't actually have anyone from the midlands in it. (Liverpool, London, Scotland, Wales yes but nowhere in the midlands). Although I guess that doesn't really matter, the film itself is quite clever with the western twist but in itself makes the whole thing completely predictable. From the first scene to the last you know the little guy will fight the big guy. I say little guy as Rhys Ifans character isn't very likable either, and isn't a good guy, in fact the film is littered with unlikable, unsympathetic, manufactured characters which is very unusual for a Shane Meadows film. It is because of this, and the straight generic comedy (as opposed to the poignant, or uncomfortable humour in other films) that this film akins to that of a "spoof" meadows, more so than one of his own.

Dylan W (us) wrote: I can see how other could enjoy it, but just not for me. Martin and Murphy are good, on the other hand the rest of the cast isn't good and personally too cheesy and forced. Smart plot wish it would've been better.
