Darren B (us) wrote: Paper Planes is an inspirational film about a boy named Dylan, portrayed by Ed Oxenbould, who loves flight and everything about planes, aerodynamics and all of these things that make him so inspired to fly paper planes. After a student teacher visits and teaches his school how to make paper planes a very silly and unrealistic scene plays out, with the bully all the sudden becoming friends with him as soon as he flies a paper plane just at the door as soon as someone comes and opens it. The film is full of entirely unrealistic story points, and I don't want to spoil it for people who actually want to watch this. The acting is just terrible and the character's emotions feel so fake, like one second Sam Worthington, as Dylan's father, is all fine for Dylan to go to Sydney, then he's angry. It seems like the writer himself had forgotten if he was happy or sad, then decided to just have Sam Worthington roll with it. The film has so many imperfections, and after swallowing what I thought would be a sweet and inspirational film- it left a bad taste in my mouth, with bad acting and scripting, a poor and predictable storyline. If you want to see a movie that is utterly so predictable you can just watch the trailer and already know the whole film's story, go right ahead. The only people I might recommend this movie to are 7-10 year olds. This movie is a total waste of time.
