John B (au) wrote: The intention was surely a love story but here we have creepiness as a woman pursues a man who looks exactly like her dead husband. The actors work well however in that creepiness up until the film makers take the easy out of an ending with a bow on top.

Sylvester K (jp) wrote: An utterly pathetic attempt at making something remotely funny. One for the money is a disastrous fiasco about a broke woman's quest to find a missing person for $50,000, which is something no one cared and should be ignored forever.

Michael G (nl) wrote: The first hour/2 acts of The Fortune were so slow moving that not even the underrated comic pairing of Jack Nicholson (an absolute nut here) and Warren Beatty (think a dopey Jim Dandy) were able to completely stop the juggernaut of slow dullness. I was wondering why the hell I'd never heard of The Fortune before and I'd gotten my answer. But once that first hour disappeared something clicked with the comic timing and the last 10 minutes of The Fortune were some of the most hilariously tense and nerve-wracking I can remember. Its a quick worthwhile watch if you get the chance.

With the characters, showing different traditions, mindsets and values of an Indian family! No body understands a 'Happy Indian Family' like Barjatya.

Paul K (gb) wrote: Rather than the typical American t&a summer party film, this one adopts the more relaxed, European attitudes toward sex and nudity and does fairly well at delivering its message that one must take risks and live more freely to be truly happy in life, and that love is to be shared rather than jealously guarded. It verges on the cusp of something substantial, but doesn't quite make it over the hump. The plot, acting, and dialogue take too many shortcuts, too many easy, un-nuanced ways out of situations, and yet, I'd be willing to bet that Greek tourism owes at least a few tourist dollars to this movie. The scenery is refreshingly beautiful - and that includes both the Greek village that has been carved into the edge of a volcanic bluff overlooking the sun-drenched sea and the care-free (and mostly clothes-free) people from other places that populate the village's patios and beaches in the summer. Valerie Quennessen is stunning as the androgynous sprite who re-injects life into the relationship of the bored and restless couple played by Daryl Hannah and Peter Gallagher (who subsequently played the baddie in Sex, Lies, and Videotape). Their cowboy rendition of "Happy Birthday" was the most humorous and genuine moment in the film, although the rest of the scene seemed a little over the top and left me with a feeling that a lot of back story had been cut. Gallagher's character reminds me both in appearance and, perhaps less so, in demeanor of the Vincent Chase character in Entourage. A worthwhile film, if just to "enjoy the scenery" and daydream about spending a sun drenched summer on a Greek isle.

Jennifer T (it) wrote: Not bad for a low budget 70's tv movie. It was alright. It reminded me of a soap opera but with good acting.

Jeremy P (fr) wrote: One of my first Hong Kong action purchases and still one of the best. Loved Brigitte Lin, Maggie Cheung, and Donnie Yen, and it had an amazing climax.

Barry T (es) wrote: An utterly charming rom com disscussing whats better "words or pictures". Binoche and Owen are wonderful together and this was really a joy to watch as they vie against each too prove a point

Uriel H (de) wrote: Esta pelcula es un placer culposo. Es mala? No. Es malsima! Es divertida? S... mucho!
