Mattias E (ru) wrote: Taking a break from the somewhat troubled production of Dream Home, director Pang Ho-Cheung delivers a modern romantic comedy steeped in authentic contemporary Hong Kong culture and a deeply felt passion for its subject matter. Love In A Puff has the recognizable light touch and casual feel of a film swiftly made in the interim, thriving on spontaneity and flashes of fancies that normally ends up on the cutting room floor, hence sharing some classic cinematic ground with both Godard and Wong Kar Wai. The film is essentially dialogue driven and provides further evidence of screenwriter Heiward Mak's ability to pick up on the local discourse, operating firmly on street level, ear to the ground. As in his previous comedies, Pang's sense of humour displays a certain partiality for politically incorrect laddish behaviour, but with a most agreeable and disarming absence of testosteron-heavy male characters. Feelgood movie of the year for me.

Peder S (us) wrote: It is a Sci-Fi channel film, so about what I expected. Some of their films are halfway decent, a fair number are so bad that they are good, this one was just bad.

Nothing shocking; strip clubs, prostitution, white slavery, etc. A lot was obviously faked for the sake of the camera. Both this and the above film were rated X, though I believe network stations have since broadcast filthier scenes on their airwaves.

Don S (es) wrote: I really enjoyed this action movie. Zoe Saldana nails her performance as a hitman taking out the worst of the worst in criminals while pursuing her ultimate goal - the killers of her parents. I didn't buy the story totally; there is one segment that falls flat for me, but overall just a kick-ass movie.

Bill B (fr) wrote: This film was a first time watch for the recent Halloween season, and I enjoyed it fairly well, considering the age of the film. You get the expected 'fish out of water' vibe of a man in a remote area digging too deep into the strange local mutations when he visits his fiance's ancestral manse, but I found the overall Gothic vibe of the sets fairly endearing and had a decent enough time with this one.Rental?

Barney o (au) wrote: WHAT I LIKED: 'Finding Nemo' is one of those films that just represents very simple, very effective story-telling that works extremelly well. The adventure is easy but highly engaging because the father-son relationship is well developed, the meaningful arcs with humourous over-tones to make the whole experience really fun but gripping at the same time, and a layer of visual and audiable splendour fill you with confidence in the fact that Pixar really know what they're doing.WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: There's no getting away from it, it's hardly the most layered film of all time (and the single setting drives this point home a little too much occasionally).VERDICT: 'Finding Nemo' is back-to-basics storytelling that works because it's executed so well. I mean, who doesn't hold a place in their heart for this classic?
