Steve C (fr) wrote: This movie is a mess. Artistic license is one thing, but this film re-writes history. The film version of the how's and why's of Frankie's death is pure fiction. Worse, it fails to tell the real story of how he became addicted, the real story of how his recording career was sent straight downhill due to his voice changing and breakup with the Teenagers. The film is only tolerable because it uses original recordings and Larenz Tate's performance is terrific.

Rahul P (it) wrote: Feminists would have a field day watching Dangerous Beauty, the story of Veronica Franco, the honest courtesan from Venice and her love for nobleman Marco. There's everything in it for them here. Unrequited love, sexual awakening, the cravings for a free life, marriage. There is a scene that plays out Veronica's sexual awakening where she is initially stressed, turns curious and then starts to enjoy whats happening to her. All of it plays to near perfection on Catherine Mccormack's pretty face, one of the big reasons why we, us men I mean, stick on with this movie.

Hugo G (fr) wrote: Very dark and interesting movie about twins interpreted excellently by Jeremy Irons, and very well directed by David Cronenberg. However, it was a little bit different from what what I thought it would be, but still it was pretty good and very well made. ~November 1, 2014~

David L (au) wrote: It has some tonal inconsistencies and it had the potential to be much better, but Cocoon is still a great viewing experience. With solid effects for the time, stellar acting and wonderful spirit, this science fiction drama is also tender, heartwarming and actually very original.

Josh X H (us) wrote: A great cast and a fascinating true story should make for a homerun but still somehow still fall somewhat flat.

Angettia R (ag) wrote: A older less seen movie starring Russell Crowe and the relationship of Father and Gay Son, very nicely done and has a great lesson of forgiveness and understanding.

Alex F (ag) wrote: Both Stephen Frear's and Milos Forman's versions are good. If there's one main difference that would be the tone of both films. While Frear's movie is more cold, less romantic, with the sense for intrigue and suspense more punctuated, Forman's movie has more sense of humor, and a cheerful tone. The production design is wonderful, and the influence from Kubrick's Barry Lyndon is evident. Colin Firth is fantastic as Valmont, and Annete Bening as the evil Merteuil is charming and poisonous at the same time.
