Mayank A (br) wrote: Awesome battle animation, specially the large scale ones, loved the medieval theme with all the horses, castles and swords. Among the best CGI I have seen in animation. Been a fan of the manga series so had to watch the movie trilogy, be warned it may be strictly for fans as it's only part of story and not the whole story line, this being left in the middle is the only sad part.

Bloodmarsh K (mx) wrote: Alan Arkin again shows that's he's one of the most underrated supporting actors going today. Give this guy some lead roles.

Alec B (fr) wrote: Is it good? No, but it's far more watchable than it's reputation suggests.

Marco F (de) wrote: It's not really a movie about the character of the much-loved Professor; rather, it's about Kurosawa himself. An excellent self-portrait.

Tsubaki S (mx) wrote: You could easily dismiss "Throw Away Your Books" at first sight, as nothing more than a product of 60s counter culture. The thing is, the movie resonates still to this day, and many things easily apply to any culture, not just modern Japan. Sexual relations, friendship, family, everything is either a joke, a charade or just never a honest thing. It's a honest reflexion on the frustrations of not only young people, but people from any age group. Even when the movie starts going heavily into "performance" mode it doesn't sabotage the entire thing.

Carlos M (gb) wrote: A plotless (and interminable) travelogue that seems more like a cheap excuse for Hawks to spend vacation in Africa, and it is hard to empathize with hunters working to catch animals for zoos (I was rooting for the rhinos) but at least the characters are charismatic (despite the casual sexism).

Stefan G (us) wrote: Rebel Without a Cause is iconic for some, but not for me. Perhaps there are a few things I missed, but that doesn't exactly matter. I can't exactly relate to the characters in it, since it was made to look at a clash of generations taking place in a different time. The writing might have been pretty solid back in the 1950's, but as a young adult living in today's world, I feel that the writing is simply outdated by today's standards. I've heard that much of the praise was aimed at James Dean's acting, and while I think his performance was pretty good, it doesn't exactly change the overall atmosphere of the movie, which I feel is fairly prosaic, though not without its character. The drama probably comes from the film recreating a generational culture clash, but I don't exactly relate to any of it, so the film doesn't exactly really move me, save for one scene. While it might be a classic for some, and while it's actually a decent movie, I simply can't relate to it, and that ultimately prevents me from enjoying this film to its full potential.
