Lewis C (au) wrote: Interesting relationship drama about four different groups of people, but it doesn't really reach any conclusions and it ends sort of suddenly, so be wary if you're bothered by movies without resolutions.

Jimene M (ca) wrote: This is not the justice league as you know it. This is a story based on how the DC universe was 60 years ago. Hence, all the characters look like their old selves. The story is OK, not great. The scene between Martian Manhunter and Batman about the match and the rock is great. If you like OLD school DC, you will like this.

Rob S (br) wrote: Grindhouse is a rare experience since double features are not regularly made nowadays. The style that was put into making this double feature particularly makes it feel like two older movies (perhaps from the 70s) but with contemporary actors we know and love like Bruce Willis, Josh Brolin, and Rosario Dawson to name a few. Together, Planet Terror and Death Proof bring an interesting experience to viewers. Separately, each is a good (but not great) B movie. What worked for Planet Terror: it is awesome as a "disease" or "outbreak" movie. Even though the film is generally darkly lit, the killing of the infected proves to be action-packed and very bloody (did Tarantino ghost direct certain parts)? Wray is a really cool character with a clear expertise on guns and a great shooter. Cherry is good as well, but a little more bland than Wray. While the coolest aspect of the film has to be when Cherry gains a gun for a leg it defies the logic of her knowing how to operate it without pulling a trigger of any sorts. Also, it does not seem to run out of ammo. But this logic is somewhat irrelevant since it is clear Planet Terror was made for fun. What worked for Death Proof: Tarantino is at it again with conversations that connect dots between various situations. For example, in the first half of the film a girl is told to do a lap-dance for the first man who says something specific to her, and her friends urge her not to be "chickens***." When Kurt Russell tries this on this same girl later in the film, he makes an analogy to the common phrase "in my book" and threatens to put this girl under "chickens***" in his "book." Unlike most Tarantino movies, however, it lacks substance, and at its most basic, Death Proof is about Kurt Russell tracking two sets of girls - one in the first half and another in the second half. Even with Tarantino-esque dialogue, this segment falls short of great, but Kurt Russell's performance in this movie is convincing and impressive. It is a fun experience to watch this double feature, but do not expect to watch two masterpieces by any means.3.0/4.0

Slee B (fr) wrote: I was unable to sleep at all, so I saw Picture This on Telemundo to pass the night. Now picture this, Ashley Tisdale (Mandy) in a we-have-all-ready-seen-this-type-of-film! It is loaded with a number of cliches including an over protective father, the hunk, the rival, and the loyal best friends. I was baffled by the villain of the film because is so miserable throughout the entire film that she makes it her duty to make others miserable. It takes me back to watching the film known as Aquamarine. More baffling is the how zany schemes from Mandy does to outsmart her father. Clearly, I am not impress, but whatever. I was just glad I was able to sit through this which is something I did even picture. Picture me Dead might be the superior choice

Rohit K (de) wrote: Brilliant movie. Just two people in a room.Everything is based on dialogue. Shows two versions of an event and both sides are believable and wrong at the same time.Brilliant. Macy's acting is perfectly attuned to the dialogue. Must see!

Tyler R (ru) wrote: It was entertaining. Fun movie with some funny parts. Slow pacing.

Bill B (de) wrote: I enjoyed this film the most out of my trifecta that I watched this afternoon, which also included Enter The Ninja and Pray For Death, and this one has the best mixture of corny twists, ninja action and over the top ridiculousness.Martial arts action, hot tub scenes, bad clothes, it is everything '80s & I love it for that.I would happily re-watch this at the drop of a hat, as it's just so damned silly and fun.

Timothy M (ca) wrote: Nice little parody of Grand Hotel that is just as muddled and ungainly as that flick. Some characters work, some don't, but the film chugs along at a good pace, so you don't really notice. As soon as Fields enters the proceedings, he takes over, which is fortunate. I liked Bela Lugosi, Gracie Allen, and George Burns too. There's also an odd cameo from Sterling Holloway, who would of course later go on to voice Winnie the Pooh for Disney (and several other characters, such as Kaa).
