Ryan N (mx) wrote: The story of Juno is one of a kind. The film has the perfect balance between drama and comedy, which gripped my attention from the beginning. Ellen Page delivers a stunning performance that kept my eyes stuck to the screen during the duration of the movie. I love movies that constantly make me think, and this movie was definitely one of them. I was mesmerized by the wonderful simplistic style of this movie and I couldn't have been happier with the outcome. My favorite quote from the movie is: "In my opinon, the best thing you can do is find a person who loves you for exactly what you are. Good mood, bad mood, ugly, pretty, handsome, what have you, the right person will still think the sun shines out your ass. That's the kind of person that's worth sticking with." I love that quote because it explains love in a silly but honest way, and it enlightened me with a new perspective on love. With that being said, the script, cinematography, score, style, direction, and characters all contributed to the beauty that is Juno.

There's only trouble and desire...And the funny thing is, when you desire something you immediately get into trouble. And when you're in trouble you don't desire anything at all."Another great Hartley film. I loved the Godardian dance scene. The acting's not bad, to all those commenting on that, it's just different. In fact it's not really even the acting, it's the writing. The dialogue in this (like in all of Hartley's work) is strange, uncommon, at times poetic even. I guess that's the problem with the modern general filmwatcher, they're repelled by the unusual.

Keith T (fr) wrote: I've wanted to see this for years, because of both the Peckinpah and Richard Harris interest . I finally saw the "restored" 136 minute version on DVD the other night. Pretty excellent really. Unusually for a Peckinpah its rating is a (UK) 12. I suspect that had it been left as Peckinpah intended, with a more realistic violence portrayal level closer to that of the later "Wild Bunch", it would have been an even better film.
