Bill T (it) wrote: OK sequel to Candyman, that doesnt really do much to the original movie, though it's nice to have some backstory about where the Candyman came from, and I liked the New Orleans setting. Other than that, pretty much straight gorefest.

Philip L (ag) wrote: A little too complex to explain, and to be honest I'm not sure if I understood it all, but the movie is a wild and bizarre ride that descends so far into surreal nightmarish madness that you, as the viewer, are just as confused as the lead character. TRIVIA: In the movie Dr. Rex Martin (Bill Pullman's character) states he attended 'Miskatonic University', the same college where Re-Animator takes place. Also, Bud Cort's character's name is Jake Halsey. Halsey is Barbara Crampton's character's last name in Re-Animator as well.

John G (nl) wrote: Superb satire from Lubitsch with a delightful cast headed by Jack Benny and Carole Lombard. The dialogue is sharply written and hilarious.

Jeramie R (us) wrote: Watching Savannah Smiles, which I haven't seen in years. Reminds me of the good old days!!!

Jesse F (fr) wrote: It's a remake. What do you expect? It's predictable and badly acted but could have been a lot worse and it's definitely not the worst remake out there by far.

monsieur r (gb) wrote: Pretty worn out plot of the family home being torn up by the Civil War, or the War Between the States, as it were. The cinematography is NOT epic, more like a TV series, so don't look for another Gone With the Wind. Stewart is his incomparable self. The family of boys and one girl includes John Wayne's son, Patric Wayne, and George Kennedy. While wanting to stay out of the conflict, Stewart does everything he can to stay out of it. But when his youngest son unfortunately finds a Confederate cap floating in a stream after a nearby clash of the troops. The son is mistaken for a Confederate by a Union company and taken to points unknown. The father, Stewart, brings the entire family on horseback to find him, but is unsuccessful. The boy does come back to the family, but only after the home is attacked by criminals with loss of life. Warned that this was a tearjerker from a book, I could hardly say that was the case. I can be sentimental at the drop of a hat, but somehow the movie was not done to support that, at least for me. There is something in the quality of TV and a movie from Hollywood. As this seemed to me to be more of a TV movie, it didn't do much for me. It was worth watching and it might mean more to you. Don't let my cynicism stop you from watching on of Jimmy Stewart's last films.

Jeff B (br) wrote: Pretty entertaining film directed by Vittorio De Sica starring Sophia Loren and Marcello Mastroianni. The couple star as couples in three different short stories about love and sex. The first story is too long, the second story is too short. The best story is the last one because it's the most entertaining and is just the right length. Overall, it's not bad, but it could have been better. If anything, see this film for the extremely hot Loren doing an extremely hot striptease.

Rui M (mx) wrote: Suprisingly gritty and brutal thriller with Wings Hauser as a memorable psycho pimp. Worthwhile if you like a bit o sleaze.

Anna C (ca) wrote: The only good thing to watch in this are the actresses

Michael C (mx) wrote: I signed up just to make this comment. I can't let one of my top 10 go down with such average reviews. This is not just a chick flick it is truly touching offset by Bill Nighy's great counter as the cynical rock star. None of the actors falls down and most exceed the mark. After several viewings I still love it and there are few films I can watch twice. It is star packed so one of you favs is probably in it. There are only nine other movies in my top 10 and this one is not close to getting bumped.
