Sean D (kr) wrote: Phantom Racer was Steven King's Christine in the '90s/'10s with race cars. With some exceptions, nobody really knew why Christine was evil. This on the other hand makes a lot more sense, it's completely laid out in the beginning. I continue to question how so much graphic violence is allowed in these films. And as such with most other films with GV, it gets toned down significantly for the latter of the film. It was okay, nothing special. A lot of annoying personal issues make for the plot of the film.

George W (jp) wrote: This was purchased under it's alternate title, "Silly Movie 2". This film is a brilliant and scathing social commentary on such hot issues as reality television programming and ten year old blockbuster movies. The director uses a combination of top-notch computer imaging and profound dialogue to seduce the audience. The plot is rich with metaphors for the deeply disturbing entertainment age we currently reside in and the conclusion will most certainly leave you with some thoughts to ponder.

Don S (us) wrote: This came as part of a double feature with Blind Fury on DVD. While I liked it a bit more than Blind Fury, it moves a bit slowly, doesn't show enough of the "post-apocalyptic wasteland" mentioned in the synopsis, and has too few fight scenes to break up the monotony. The story has no human characters, and the humanity they try to infuse in the shallow robots falls flat. Hauer turns in his usual low-key performance.

Matthew C (kr) wrote: Square Pigs! Space Truckers is right out of the crazy, 80s style, low budget science fiction mindset, and it's a blast. Dennis Hopper is just a working Joe, trying to make a few bucks hauling whatever for the giant corporations. When he runs afoul of a sleazy middleman and a conspiracy to take over the Earth, things get hairy. Plenty of fun little gags, cool characters actors, and Stuart Gordon's own brand of deviant humor, it's kind of a mix of Heavy Metal and Lexx. Worth checking out, but keep your sense of humor. And honestly, this is worth the price of admission for Charles Dance's performance alone.

Bear W (es) wrote: Loved this movie when I saw it years ago, a great b-movie romp. Watch it for drunken Jeffrey Combs as a triple feature with The Re-animator and From Beyond.

blair k (au) wrote: Kiefer Sutherland is so young and adorably fresh faced in this movie. it used to be on tv every once in awhile but not anymore which is a shame because it is a good movie that more people should discover. even in this early performance you could tell he was going to go far in his career with his blend of sweetness, charm, and passionate intensity. I have seen him in some movies where he rises above the material of a less than great movie. this movie is quite good from what I remember so I am not talking about in this case but in the last days of frankie the fly for example etc. I just wish I could watch it again on a channel that hopefully does not have commercials.

Justin B (fr) wrote: A wonderfully relatable and cringe-inducingly awkward comedy that suffers from a lot of contrived situations and was unfortunately run into the ground with its well below par sequels.

Dalton j (ru) wrote: An incredible film. Until the stupid twist then it became really really stupid

Pauli B (ca) wrote: Bad acting. Ending makes no sense what so ever...not that the rest of the movie made any either.
