It validates some of the struggles veterans have with PTSD and also, children who've had the trauma of losing a parent in an extreme manner. This is an entertaining film with much heart and I'm happy to recommend it.

Two would-be actresses--one a borderline b-movie diva; the other a small town girl-turned model, respectively--share a high end apartment in the heart of Japan. Besides being annoyed at each others lifestyle habits, they have another problem; They are both for the same role in a film. Each views the part as their last chance at fame, to break free from their individual ruts. What follows is an darkly humorous escalation of psychological abuses, personal boundary invasions, finally coming to a head with the implementation of power tools. One of the best film surprises you're likely to see.

I found more comedy in it than horror, despite some pretty strong vampire scenes. You would think a room full of coffins would freak a 7 year-old out. Apparently not me. This is one that I have seen dozens of times and cheesiness just doesn't turn me off.
