Abb J (mx) wrote: Meet Monica Velour: What a weird, contrived and ultimately sweet movie. Circumstances lead Tobe, a bad "Napoleon Dynamite" knockoff, to rural Indiana, where his vintage porn star crush now resides in a trailer. Yes, the premise is ridiculous, but Tobe's goofy likability and Kim Cattrall's spot-on portrait of a down-on-her-luck, washed up porn star is so jaw-droppingly good, and the film's last 20 minutes so charming, that it delivers the perfect happy ending.

Tija F (fr) wrote: Simple, silly fun. Coltrane and Idle have great chemistry, and Camille Coduri and Janet Suzman are both hilarious. A movie that asks little of its viewers and pleases easily. It starts off a little slowly, but the ending is superb.

Though the science is abysmal (I'd like to know what Dr. van Allen thought of the premise), this is a well paced B-movie given the full studio treatment. Ignore the lack of modern PC(Cousteau must have cringed at the narwhale scene), seeing Lorre as a sober scientist and Eden's colorized asset twisting with Frankie's horn make this a film worth seeing! Don't forget about the underappreciated Ansara working alongside his then wife, Barbie, too. Interesting that critics like this film so much more than RT's users.

Fun to watch the good town folk create havoc as they wonder is it them or someone else. Forerunner to the Clint Eastwood westerns and shows that Audie Murphy was a much better actor than given credit for. Tight, tuat very enjoyable western
Calib M (ag) wrote: Except of the incredible third act ''Tornado Sequence'', Steamboat Bill, Jr, offers little to grasp at. The last act truly is an impeccable piece of filmmaking and you have no clue how Keaton was able to pull that off in 1928 with probably a small budget that he had, but the first and second act have little to love, with only a scarce amount of laughs and a dry slow buildup. The last sequence is one of Keaton's best, but the film as whole is one of Keaton's weakest
