Ben F (ru) wrote: I just watched this film last night. I have to say that i didn't expect much from this movie anyway. Dolph Lundgren is a type casted action hero, with little to know acting skill. Diamond Dogs is just another direct to dvd action movie release, that's more about the sensless violence than it's overall plot. Most of the new millennium releases from Lundgren have him narrating a plot, or acting very calm. I personally don't know what he is trying to accomplish. Maybe he's going for a more tranquil tone. Whatever it is, i dont think it makes his movies any better. This film focused on a mission where Dolph has to get this ancient artifact before the bad guys do. A plot like that is boring to say the least, because it's been used countless times. You know when i see that an action movie has been released directly to video, i obviouslly think no plot. Dolph has been doing this stuff for over 20 years. I give him props for releasing a movie approximately every year but everyone of them are bad. Diamond Dogs, has a bad script, terrible acting, and cinematography that gets me a little nautious. It was just a film trying to look good, but didn't work out so well. Sorry Dolph. I here he is going to be in Sylvester Stallone's The Expendables, so let's see how that goes.

But by the second half, the film gets better with the glances of the housemaids to the screen as if looking into your soul, the insightful inner monologue from the communist atheist aunt (who is the character that I could relate with the most), and the argument between the lovers about their prejudices. It's another oddly great work from the director of Orlando.

Stan D (jp) wrote: Sean Connery is the grandfather, a professional thief, and Dustin Hoffman is the son, a reformed thief but now a successful businessman, and Matthew Broderick is the grandson, a brilliant college student who is bored, and wants to be a thief like his grandfather. Pure entertainment, and a great script, and of course Sean Connery steals the show.

Ryan V (it) wrote: I thought these movies were the epitome of classic comedy at one point in time. That would've also been around the time that my Mom still packed my lunchbox for me. You can almost read Guttenberg's thoughts here: "Production on Cocoon and Three Men and a Baby can't start soon enough".

Jesse F (mx) wrote: Ok I get that the direct-to-video sequels were unnecessary, but at least the three before this were dumb, funny and entertaining. The Book Of Love is the opposite of everything the other direct sequels were. Without a doubt, the worst film in the entire series.

Lucy A (br) wrote: Good start to a zombie series, although for this franchise, the sequel is better than the original.
