Joel A (fr) wrote: Lately since delving into some rich & absorbing French Cinema I have stumbled across an amazing trilogy centered around a difficult relationship set on a port in Marseilles.I think it's one of the most truthful & realistic romantic relationships I have seen put to celluloid. The story is so simple Bar Keep's son (Marius) torn between life on the sea & life with his first love Fanny a local girl. The first film focuses on their love & struggles & showcases such truth & realism...you just believe in the characters. I was so surprised how quickly I was whisked away into this Marseilles world, a terrific & wonderful film.
Dean H (es) wrote: I watched this only because Spenny from kenny vs Spenny is it, the title certainly didn't atract me. At first I wasn't sure what this was meant to be but it became fairly obvious that it was supposed to be a mockumentary that becomes a love story. There's plenty of problems with this though. For starters it's just not funny, despite trying, then it evolves around the hardcore porn industry, which certainly isn't endearing or funny either and finally, Rice is just a terrible actor who has no change of emotion throughout the entire fim. If you are a big Spenny fan you might get something out of this, otherwise I'd suggest giving it a miss.
Casey B (jp) wrote: As bad as it is, it actually was kinda fun to watch. Not the most horrible movie to watch with a group of friends.

Ethan H (br) wrote: It does have heart, but is void of the magic that made Mary Poppins a massive hit. If this was a stage play though, it would have been a better experience. The translation to film just doesn't work.
Matthew H (br) wrote: Nothing says Family entertainment then ripping off a Batman villain to promote sexism against men... This movie is just dumb and its not worth it to anyone who hasn't seen it.
Tammy M (ag) wrote: This was my first ever viewing of Hamlet, and I never realized that Shakespeare performed well is this entertaining! I doubt if I would have discerned half the humor and double entendres just from reading the text.So many famous sayings come from this play -- I wish I had watched this a long time ago!
Private U (br) wrote: Love Serenade is perhaps one of the cutest, most random romantic comedies I have ever seen! The plot is simple and easy going, but the character of Dimity (played by the amazingly talented Miranda Otto) is just so bizarre and adorable that you're surprised again and again with the weirdest lines - the ones about fish are particularly funny. The character of Ken Sherry is also an interesting one ? to the untrained eye he may be a bit of a sleaze ball and a prick at times, but he certainly has a way with words! It may be difficult for some to pick up where the humour has been placed, but the great thing about this film is that it's on so many levels so constantly you will always find yourself smirking at something!

Tor M (ru) wrote: My second Chaplin flick. It's so interesting to see how much quality his films countain. The story is, just like "The Kid", superb. The poor versus the rich. This film also got a great aspect of love.Great music and some nice filming tricks.I feel it's Chaplin's anti-drinking film - what booze do to you.Funny, but mustly charming and smart. Still, you always get's what's coming - the shocks stay out of the picture. Very original, and often clever. It may not make you laugh a whole lot, but it gave me several smiles, if not a constant one.8 out of 10 lucky rabbit feet.
