Russ V (ag) wrote: A solid sequel that retains much of what the original so good, but it is quite predictable at times.

Philip V (it) wrote: The movie had no purpose or plot! It was just kids getting high and going from party to party. Boring! Seemed like they were trying to capitalize on the play of words with the title resembling dazed and confused, which by the way is a great movie!

Mattias E (au) wrote: Of the great new wave of wuxia movies of the 80's and 90's Dragon Inn is one of the best. Amazing how beautiful and coherent it turned out since the directing of it largely seems to have been a collective effort. Odd that Tsui Hark didn't claim full credit since it gratly overshadows every movie in the genre he directed on his own, including the acclaimed Swordsman cycle. Of all the superstars involved in this, Brigitte Lin shines the most.

Ben C (us) wrote: Once again, Mel Brooks has the potential to outdo himself, and he does so in this film. While it is filled with language, sexual references and a chase scene involving drugs, it is used merely for good fun, and most of the jokes pay off, with some minor misses. It is interesting how Mel Brooks takes a series of historic events (including the French Revolution) and takes them to a rather loony level, an example of this being Caesar (Dom DeLuise), made into a mannerless slob, who actually lives in the casino called Caesar's Palace. In the end, Mel Brooks is the one actor who surprisingly carries most of the film as the main star, and he certainly doesn't disappoint when he's on screen most of the time, especially during the 'Spanish Inquisition' chapter. And it was also amazing that he could get Orson Welles to narrate throughout the film.

Blake P (nl) wrote: Do you like star-studded casts? Do you like murder mystery whodunits? Well, then you should definitely watch Agatha Christie's, "Death on the Nile". A big group of people decide to go on a cruise on the Nile. But of course, considering this is an Agatha Christie adaption, and the main character is famous sleuth Hercule Poirot (Ustinov), you know a crime's gonna happen. And guess what? Socialite Linnet Ridgeway (Chiles) is the murder victim, and it seems that almost every single person on the ship has a motive, which includes actors Bette Davis, David Niven Angela Lansbury, Mia Farrow, Jon Finch, George Kennedy, Olivia Hussey, Maggie Smith, and the list could go on. We know that one (or more) of the above is responsible, but it's just to bad that the person(s) responsible couldn't have picked a ship minus Poirot ... I think we all know that "Death on the Nile" won't be as good as "Murder on the Orient Express", but as exciting murder mystery whodunits go, "Death on the Nile" is one of the most fun, and well acted ones of them all. Like all of the famous big cast capers of the decade, it has an odd assortment of characters, good sets, a great score, and most of all, suspense, which is the key to half of the fun going on. Like "CSI", the film shows how the characters would commit the murder, which keeps you guessing more and more, because the motives for the group then become more serious. From kooky Lansbury as a nutty author to Birkin as a timid maid, everybody seems guilty, which are the ingredients for a perfect murder mystery. Ustinov is phenomenal, by the way. "Death on the Nile" is a superbly made movie that anybody looking for an exciting film should definitely watch.

Michael M (de) wrote: This stuff cannot ever be bad. 90 minutes of brainless fun. We know what we are getting when we start this movie and it aims up. For us 70's and 80's kids, this nostagia works every time.

Geir F (it) wrote: This sequel surprisingly gets off to a better start than its predecessor, but then quickly devolves into the same kind of pitiful dreck again. Sharon Stone looks great in her black leather pants - but did they really have leather pants back then? Somehow I doubt it.

Greg B (ru) wrote: really enjoyed this movie. And who cares how long a movie is when it's filled with great actors giving great performances? The length didn't bother me at all.

Fong K (fr) wrote: A trio of golden achievement in acting from Oscar-winning Henry Fonda, Katherine Hepburn and Jane Fonda radiates in this pleasantly balmy Hallmark-esque family drama that reflects upon aging, mortality and reconciliation.

Brad G (fr) wrote: One year before they teamed up for the lady gladiator flick The Arena, Pam Grier and Margaret Markov made this delightfully sleazafied version of The Defiant Ones. After they escape the clutches of an evil lesbian prison guard, Grier and Markov must ignore their mutual hatred of each other and do battle with the law and an army of drug runners; all the while shackled to one another. Even though I absolutely loved Sid Haig??s cowboy criminal, it is extremely frustrating that his story and Grier & Markov??s story never collide. A little long at an hour and thirty minutes (not uncommon to the genre) you fans out there will really enjoy the violent shoot out climax. VF.
