Mayank F (de) wrote: Found footage films can easily be boring. This one wasn't.

Chris B (it) wrote: Great movie! I never thought I could enjoy a silent film but this film changed that. This movie is very fun to watch and a quick pace. A great time piece movie. Unbelievable acting, directing, and score. I loved the dancing and could watch George Valentin and Peggy Miller dance all day.

Talita E (es) wrote: I don't get the low ratings. Great plot that manages to surprise all through the movie. Great photography and interesting inversion of roles, where the male character is the one in danger. Worth seeing creative horror movie.

Rob S (au) wrote: When this started out with a weird layered voiceover, I was worried this would be one of those overdirected, directorcentric, MichaelMoorish, WernerHerzoggian things. I shouldnt have worried. The focus is definitely on Darger's life and work. Theres a solid several minutes later on that is just shot after shot of his paintings. The animation is really different, and has a DIY feel that's totally in keeping with Darger's original stuff. If you're into Kafka's life and work, I think you need to see this. Great movie.PS I'm not sure what it means for Henry Darger to be in the cast of the documentary. He's long dead and only three photographs of him exist. It seems a bit odd to credit him as a cast member.

Manoj V (de) wrote: Being an ardent--let me rephrase it to obsessive--fan of Ingmar Bergman's films especially the ones which have Sven Nyquist as the cinematographer, this movie kinda let me down in terms of plot elements and happenings. There's nothing much that happened in the entire time. But, the themes of faith, silence of god and unrequited love struck some sad chords along with magic cinematography that gave the movie a good stand among the notable works of Ingmar Bergman.

Andrew S (it) wrote: Visually stunning, but not a frightening movie.
