You witness all the waiting and wondering that candidates go through with their family and campaign collaborators. Mitt is the kind of stripped-down documentary that shows Mitt Romney as just a citizen fighting for his point of view to be chosen/agreed to by the masses. It reminded me that candidates are just pawns to a large extent of the massive process that just runs its course, and they have to go along for the ride and see if the coin flips in their favor or not.
Erick F (fr) wrote: The fights scenes were excellent. Lets get that out of the way first. Ever fight scene was worth watching. The story, after the 2nd act, was fucking derailed. The beginning is set up like a typical kung fu flick, everything you expect to happen, happens, but then in the 3rd act it just goes nuts. But -- how bad can you fault a movie whose soul purpose is to show you awesome fight scenes? Plus the story derailing at the end was a drunken master story, which always holds a special place in my heart. The fight scenes are worth it though. I enjoyed it. Type of movie you watch again just because it doesn't ask a lot of you -- and you can just leave it in the background playing. OK Concept Good Execution (on the fight scenes) Watch it if your a big fight scene type of guy (like I am).

I really like both Ellen Page and Patrick Wilson as actors and do they act their little hearts out here - very darkly too for the both of them. Wilson plays a photographer named Jeff, who is courted by a 14 year old Hayley online, and agrees to meet up with her and eventually takes her home. The first maybe half hour the film is an exercise in trying to not squirm out of your skin. Page being tiny and cute and looking a lot longer than she actually is in real life really makes you forget that she's playing a 14 year old and isn't actually one. You feel just wrong watching how her and Wilson interact at first. You're afraid of where this is going to go and then Hayley changes before your eyes. Hayley is by no means an innocent and she is out for blood. You would think you'd be firmly on Hayley's side of things, but you can't help but go back and forth just based on the absolutely horrifying situations Jeff is put in (one rather infamous scene in particular which I will not spoil if you haven't seen it). I'd still say I'm for sure spiritually with Hailey but dang. It's wonderfully acted, extremely claustrophobic, and the tension is first rate. The only reason it doesn't rate higher is the believably of certain things. The fact that Hayley is, allegedly, an honours student can't be an explanation for everything. Sorry.

Mark N (ag) wrote: Suffers horribly from a low budget and unimaginative theft of big budget movie plots. Sinise and Shalhoub are far from at the height of their powers and both walk through the rote material, giving it no more thought than it deserves. Looks and feels like a hundred other movies and does nothing to distinguish itself.
