Senor C (nl) wrote: I am not just saying this as a Kurt Russell fan but he makes this movie more watchable then the whole. This movie doesn't even the back drop of the race riots because of Rodney King beatings. Sure it adds to some of the tension but a deeper character study of a dirty cop w/ his own corruption, demons & alcoholism would have been a much better movie. That's what makes a movie like The Bad Lieutenant so outstanding. Dark Blue has that potential w/ many elements & the pieces are there but it decides to spread its seeds around so the roots aren't as deep as the should be. Even @ a rather lengthy run time it doesn't get under the skin as much as it should have. Maybe another 30-20 minutes would have done it or maybe Im wrong w/ that & it would have been a bit long in the tooth. All & all this could have been something that stood out in its era like Colors did in the 80s. Good (mostly for Russell) but misses the mark a bit..especially since Michael Michele wasn't naked

Levi D (jp) wrote: Pretty generic teen romance. I mean, not that I would know, but it just seems like I've seen it somewhere else. Over-reliance on love songs got annoying, but Heath was what kept me watching.

Chris J (nl) wrote: It's amazing the make-up job that they did on Sandra at the beginning of the movie. They were actually able to make her look homely! (which is no easy task in my opinion!)

Brian M (ca) wrote: Some say this is the best "Ernest" film.. i have to disagree.. For my money "Ernest goes to Camp" is the best.. i did however like this one alot during my childhood days..now as an adult..it's just.. kinda dumb.. I love the late great Jim Varney and his portrayal of Ernest P. Worrell, it's just i guess when you grow up his style of slapstick is kinda old and worn out.. the rubber-ish faces, the goofy grins, the "knowwhatimean" catch phrase..O.K. i still like that one.. even though this movie isn't some Christmas classic (when did Santa get skinny?) it has its moments.. I still love the Ernest character and will probably continue to watch this every year..
