Every character is in some way connected to the others, and each of them is in crisis and behaving badly and self-destructively as they seek happiness. Superbly acted by all, but particularly Gemma Jones as a divorcee who stifles her existential loneliness by seeking solace from a fraudulent psychic.

To be fair, his handling of the quieter moments between the action was adequate, but he clearly has no grasp of how direct action sequences, which are clearly central to any good Bond. I'm afraid the 'shake the camera and cut at least once a second' school of action direction doesn't really cut it.It's tragic really, as the setup and the stunts for the sequences looked pretty promising, but you had to look pretty hard to tell once Mr. Forster's hopeless direction kicked in. Such a waste.

It might have been Valentine's Day, but still. I also found the script rather cheesy as well. I found the actors' didn't have much to work with.

(ru) wrote: A bold, ambitious sci-fi drama that is a spectacle to behold as it unfolds before your eyes, Slaughterhouse-Five is an unsung gem of seventies science fiction and cinema in general. The acting is well done from the entire cast, and you feel like you know all of them by the end of the film. The music and the cinematography are just as beautiful as one is to expect from a film with these many interesting ideas running around. But what really makes the film is the complexity of the structure, and how the editing makes it seem so natural, telling the life of a man out of sync yet somehow always connecting the moments almost flawlessly. If you are looking for an unconventional sci-fi drama that also happens to be a legitimately great film, look no further.
