Curtis R (nl) wrote: A sweeping portrait of the dismal everyday lives in the slums of Bombay, Mira Nair conveys magic with her masterpiece film "Salaam Bombay!" It tells of the adventures of young Chaipau as he struggles to make an earnest living in the streets of India, and is surrounded by drugs, filth and corruption in the process. The accompanying narratives of the young prostitute, dubbed "Sweet Sixteen", little Manju (daughter of the prostitute at the local brothel) and drug addled Chillum weave together and intertwine to form the rich storyline of "Salaam Bombay!" Nair manages to capture the rawness of despair and certain sections of the film (no spoilers) are particularly bleak, but these factors fuel the potency of the atmosphere, and this culminates in the foundation of classicity of the film.

Joe A (ag) wrote: Goofy film, and not in a good way. it's pretty incoherent and kind of spoofish.

Tor M (es) wrote: Sad, still uplifting documentary. That such a poor childhood can result in something so successful is quite heartwarming.I had never heard of the guy, but I have seen his works here and there. A fascinating and very creative guy that's also very skilled. A cartoonist with a style that's a mixture of sexual obsessions, absurdities, politics and own memories is an interesting package. As for the film it is interesting all the way and it never felt long - just as a well produced documentary should be made. There is an superold Ice Cube (The C.I.A) track featured here as well. Cool.8 out of 10 YOLO trucks.

Kyle M (gb) wrote: Same level as its predecessor almost in funny. Like their previous Vacation, there were parts that had lowered the film's level. In addition, there's silliness and some bad acting. As the results, it's tied to its predecessor as being the least of the series. (C+)(Full review coming soon)

Hugo G (ca) wrote: I had a very good amount of gore, but none of it felt as over the too as I expected, bra sue I've seen other movies from those years too, that were more explicit and graphic. Also, the story was kind of dumb and it wasn't very scary. I did expect a lot more from this movie, but it at least had some gore.
