Jeffrey N (mx) wrote: A good documentary is entertaining, educational, informative and usually makes you leave the theater thinking long after the movie has ended. While many documentaries have a political or moral stance, it is the rare documentary that fulfills all of the criteria for a good documentary, yet really has no purpose other than to enlighten. "Buck," is the documentary of real-life horse whisperer Buck Brannaman, his path to the life he chose, the lessons he learned as a child and how he took the right path as an adult in spite of his past. "Buck" was timely for me as it represented what is in my heart at the moment. Wanting to enjoy each moment as they come. Not dwell on the past. Turn the negative things that have happened to me into positive things for the future. While the documentary did serve to tell Buck's story, as well as give insight into the amazing work he does as a horse trainer, it did much more. It displayed immense insight into fatherhood, parenting, patience and living for the positive things in our short lives. While watching, I frequently thought of my estranged father-in-law, whom I believe would love this movie. Not only as a father, but also as a love for the roots of what makes a good cowboy. "Buck" is a beautifully shot film with a captivating, heartwarming, as well as heartbreaking, story. I couldn't encourage seeing it more.

Corey P (fr) wrote: There were so many tan, toned Greeks in this movie I had a hard time concentrating on the plot.

Anna B (ag) wrote: The flashbacks are much more interesting than the angsty awards-bait of the mental asylum sections, and they slowly move to the background as the movie goes along so it gets a bit insufferable in the third act. Birdy is a pretty fascinating character at first, but his obsession gets so absurd there's a point at which I became more sympathetic to all the people calling him a nut who needed to get out of the house. Cage is good.

Alyson C (ca) wrote: Very disappointed in this movie - it has virtually nothing to do with a carousel. The characters are either boorish pigs or witless ninnies - nobody is appealing or endearing, and the whole affair has a very unsatisfactory resolution. The only thing redeeming this movie is its songs, a few of which are quite pretty. Still, I think this is probably the second most sexist musical I have ever seen. If you want a good Rogers and Hammerstein musical circa 1956, go watch The King and I instead.

Jc E (mx) wrote: Picards nemesis was none other than a young clone of Picard played by a young Tom Hardy. Watching this movies 13 years after the movie was released in 2002 evoked sympathetic feelings for the villain Shinzon if one has grown fond of Tom Hardy as an actor since 2002. Can Shinzon survive? Will Picard give his clone his blood. Sadly Picard stared into the eyes of his clone 30 years his junior as he expired on a steel stake through his heart. A definite sign of the end of the chapter for the next generation when Data made the ultimate sacrifice of himself for another-the life Jean Luc Picard. But then again he was not human. Even if Data was human , he was far from the greatest act of self sacrifice ever in history. Yes Jesus sacrificing His life for the many. We know Star trek cannot continue with the current crew without Jean-Luc Piccard or Data. The audience was left with the tantalising possibility of Datas dumber brother succeeding him for the next film. But we know now 13 years later what the audience in 2002 didnt know then is the 3rd generation was standing in the wings. Or rather a reboot of the 1st generation with the likes of Chris Pine as young James T Kirk and Zachary Quinto as Spock.

Lysann B (ag) wrote: You can't deny this movie has charme. And for a Tinseltown remake of it's French original it's a surprisingly good laugh. The cast is well chosen, with a young, fresh-faced Tara Reid, before she became a farce of herself.

Raji K (nl) wrote: In a small town in Ireland with only 52 people, a man wins the lottery. The only problem is, that man Ned Devine, died in the process. To keep the money from going unclaimed the town comes up with a scheme to ensure the money stays within the town. They have one man fake that he is Ned Devine, and the comedy ensues. Ned Devine is a black comedy for sure, and is a bit goofy as well. I can see this film perhaps delighting the others more, but I thought the movie was somewhat boring and did not have much leg to stand on outside of the premise itself.
