Eva Green's character has the opportunity of several lifetimes, since she is an epidemiologist, yet spends her days and night casually shacking up with Ewan McGregor's character. The disease progresses and the symptoms manifest in people simultaneously, despite the fact that they wouldn't have been infected at the same time.

Luckily, this one isn't quite that bad. The film starts off decently enough, with some sub action in the Atlantic. As the movie goes on, however, it deteriorates into something pretty hideous. The plot turns laughable when the American sub crew gets taken hostage by a German U-boat, and they then proceed to become friends and work together to reach the American soil. Yes... nuff said. This movie is quite bad, but goddamn it, it has the one things in it even Winston C.l was afraid of!

(mx) wrote: The guy who made the phenomenal Akira wrote this? It's a pity he didn't direct it too. I found this movie to be pretty bad. The story is weird and nonsensical things happen, such as how the robot is suddenly the old guy's wife, and the climax is extremely anticlimactic. I thought it was the action before the climax, but the exciting part of the movie never came. The animation is sloppy, and only really picks up at the end of the film, where it finally becomes fluid and also because the robot designs are monstrously complex. But most of the character designs are creepy and unappealing, and the English voice cast sucks, although that isn't a critique of the actual film, and the badness made the movie a little more interesting. Yeah, it's original and bizarre, but it is in no way a notable piece of animation.
(au) wrote: Franklin has a Hitchcockian flair and a sense of humor that nicely suits Keach's wry presence (well, it may not hold up like most Hitchcock, but it's at least its a bit better than Family Plot). The finale is sort of sloppy and the insinuation that maybe Keach is the killer is transparent red herring.
