Trent R (kr) wrote: The "Tongan Ninja" crew doing an homage to Asian horror instead of fu, with comedians Raybon Kan, cameos by the Conchords, and Rhys Darby. Their comedy is mainly bookended, and may have come in late to the script; even central protagonist Kan just cracks wise a little. The cancer ward setting doesn't help the comedy, and the horror elements were tired a decade ago even for fans of mainstream horror. Good talent involved, but none are well served by this awkward mix of a grim subject for humor and tired J-horror cliches.

Very entertaining screwball comedy with a rare teaming of Spencer Tracy and William Powell, who are great and I would have liked to see them do more films together. A must see if you are a fan of the actors or the genre.

Paul N (mx) wrote: Revisited before watching T2. This is a great 8/10 film, with a great story and memorable (but not always loveable) characters. What pushes it up to 9/10 is the soundtrack, not a duff note in there, and born slippy is in my top 10 songs ever so I'm quite a bit partisan...
Vincent O (jp) wrote: I have not seen Cannibal Holocaust but I bet its tons better than this. Really tame and totally underwhelming. I can't thing of were to award merit but it does have one decent scene when they first discover the body of one of their friends. The gonzo style is really difficult to get right and this is so wide of the mark.
