Alyssa N (it) wrote: I've seen mainstream romantic comedies that are less cheesy and more in touch with reality than this. Even if you accept how synthetic the story feels and try to enjoy it as guilty entertainment, you'll still be let down. The actors are trying so hard to get into their roles that I feel sorry for them, but this is soap opera acting at its worst. During the bathroom stall tryst, the protagonist was probably aiming for a hybrid of shame and pleasure, but he looks sort of constipated. And the cliches are too many to count, from the mysterious past of the love interest to the "nice guy" best friend turning out to be a romantic rival, and not standing a chance. But despite all of this movie being pretty poor, the ending is still the worst part. It is so ridiculous and uncalled for that the story loses any chance at credibility it had left, and all I could do was cringe.

joshua b (br) wrote: Are they vampires? Are they werewolves? You don't know in this mess of a low-budget horror thriller with bad special effects and an even worse script. Riley from Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Marc Blucas) is a good ol' boy who gets seduced by a mysterious slattern (Nikki Aycox) in a bar, and he lets her move in with him even though he doesn't know her. Crazy ensues. There was a point during which I thought his movie was going for a heavy-handed allegory about the plight of the oppressed sex worker at the hands of her evil pimp (Naveen Andrews, better known as Sayid from LOST, who is laughably awful here). But when that was dropped from the plot well before the climax, and I realised this movie isn't going for social commentary, because it isn't trying at all.

Ruben believes that Andy will never change and allows him to do whatever he wants in his last hour... how is it going to end?

Andy W (gb) wrote: A character study about an inheritance which always feels naturalistic and improvised (to its credit), but as a whole, it concludes with a slight ending. I wanted to know more about these characters, but the film only lets you in so far. Its nicely realised, but pretty unrewarding.
