Andrew B (us) wrote: Mostly forgettable fun, and that's about it, though it really runs out of steam and gets dumber by the end. On the other hand, it's fun to look back on it as a product of its time ("Whoa, is that my VideoNow?"), and I also remember more about the film than I thought I did (exploding Mentos, self-playing clarinet). Anthony Anderson was pretty (relatively) good here too.3/5 stars

Russell S (gb) wrote: A movie made in character and actor chemistry heaven. Great story, good writing and lots of suitably tense action in a buddy cop movie who's amusingly dysfunctional relationship is at the heart of what makes this movie work so well.

Daniel P (nl) wrote: One of Dario Argento's lesser 70's works, the film suffers from an overly confused story and a totally ridiculous plot device that must have sounded far-fetched at the time, and feels very dated now. Argento's excellent direction and POV shots (familiar from the superior Opera and Deep Red) mean this is at best an interesting curio for giallo fans.

This is a movie that will make it into my permanent collection. Sensual, sad, vengeful....it had it all.
