But its incompetence is only one half of its badness- this film was made for completely rotten, disgusting and contemptible reasons. This film was funded by and is about the history of, FIFA- the beleagured organization that runs world soccer that is known for its rife, systemic financial corruption. This is one of the worst and most bizarre movies I've seen in a long, long time- it is a film so appalling, so dishonest and so unwatchable that the typically informed viewer will cringe in shock at this movie's dreadfully conscending tone of corporate advancement. Even if it wasn't a case of mental bubble corporate insanity, it would still be as shockingly bad a film as I've ever seen. UNITED PASSIONS is an atrocious, abysmal, completely warped film- it is corrupt, contemptible dreck from the very first frame to the very last frame. It is an all-time legendary bomb- the kind of film that should be thrown into the deepest depths of eternal hell.

It seemed like they wanted to make the movie mostly about Kristen. I don't think the producers realized the fans loved the entire cast as much or more than Veronica. Show might have been about her but without the entire cast I would have quit watching earlier. The movie itself was good enough especially considering how it got made but at the end of the movie I felt like we the fans didn't get enough and there was NO REASON AT ALL for Piz to be part of this movie. I also hated the fact that SPOILER!!!! they made everyone go back to being what they were 10 years earlier. People grow and there was no way in heck Wevil was going to go back to being the leaser of a gang after he raised a daughter and became an adult.

I went in to the picture expecting minimal story and bad acting that seem to dominate and overshadow a lot of smaller films story and concept. However with this film I was wrong completely. It had an almost Evil Dead cult aspect to it that I felt back when I was a kid and watched that damn evil dead woman fight her way into that cabin. It was low budget and independent and full of energy and the same with this film. If you like your demon cults and devil worshipers with leather and gasoline then this film is for you most definitely. The story was a cool through back to films like "Devil Rider" and "Hell Rider" blended with satanic ritual and devil possession and action it is a great exploitation/horror flick. The acting as a little generic but a few characters pull of real emotion and believability. The effects and action sequences though make up for it. Mostly stunt and organic effects used here with a very minimal cgi other than what is mystically necessary for a scene or two.The film was enjoyable and I found myself thinking ahead to a sequel coming down the pike maybe for 2012 or something. There is still a lot more story here to explore. However the dialogue could have been a little deeper and fluid with the story. As some characters pulled of noticeable plausibility others seemed to almost phone it in just waiting for a payday. This film is a good one to see and if biker exploitation horror is a thing your into definitely pick it up. It has everything you may like. I don't normally go for biker horror stuff but I am not hetero so that pretty much should solve that. This film I liked a lot. It had psycho bikers, satanic worship, mythology, gore, action and possession. So yeah definitely a film for the collection.
Chiek E (ru) wrote: Excellent horror film with a great story and brilliant acting from John Cusack as the cocky writer of ghost stories, Mike Enslin and Samuel L Jackson, as Mr Olin, the cautious hotel manager of Dolphin Hotel who went to great lengths to dissuade Mike Enslin of foolhardiness. Entering 1408 at great peril to himself and a mess for Mr Olin to clean up afterwards. Never in the world would I expect the Carpenters classic nostalgia " We've only just begun" incongruously used as the recurring spooky and haunting song in the haunted room 1408. Not the typical haunted stories with macabre ghosts and blood bath. Rather it was the painful memories of Mike Enslin, his deceased daughter of cancer being the worst, that would plague Mike recurrently like 'Groundhog Day' that was the most hurtful and unbearable and ultimately his reason to check out of the hotel in a fiery inferno. The best scene was the playful banter between Mr Olin and Mr Mike, one trying to dissuade the other not to venture into the room. In the meantime, not only was Mikes curiosity heightened enormously to taste the forbidden fruit but also us the audience. It was a satisfying ending because Mike Enslin, for all his cockiness and scepticism, he did not survive room 1408.

I especially enjoyed the cast and was surprised and impressed to see the incorporation of American actors in it as well. Despite the fact that I am not a huge fan of the incredibly fake wire-work stunts used in some portions of the film, the fight scene at the end of the film was amazing! Check it out if you are into Chinese action/comedies!P.S. It was produced by Jackie Chan, and anything with Anthony Wong in it (since seeing the Infernal Affairs trilogy) is an awesome plus!!

James S (jp) wrote: Corner Gas is my all-time favourite sitcom. It's consistently funny, has great writing, and is so organic that they always leave you wanting more. The show ran for the perfect length of time, and never let its fans down. So, when I heard there was a movie, I was very optimistic. The film did not disappoint. It keeps all the same types of humour we are used to from the show, which is difficult when transitioning from a 22-minute sitcom to a 90-minute movie. The characters are mostly as they remember them, although there enough differences to account for the passage of time. This makes it feel more natural; it's not like the show picks up where the series finale left off.If I had any complaints, I could whine about how Oscar didn't 'go off' as much as he used to, or how the narrative framing device used at the start made the first two-thirds feel out-of-sequence. Honestly, though, these are nitpicks. If you liked the show, you will certainly like the film.Six seasons and a movie!
