(jp) wrote: I have to say that I really wanted to love this movie, but in the end I was sorely disappointed. I found the direction of the movie lacking in... uhmmm... direction. The flashback scenes should have been truncated and scattered more throughout the present day storyline, and the end of this movie was so anti-climatic, I was actually bored by the time it ended. Wonderful acting, inspiring story, but very, very disappointing.
(it) wrote: This is a nice little movie with Heather Graham and Tom Cavanagh playing sister and brother, but when you see how they are interacting in the beginning, you would hardly know the difference. Heather is lovely as always and Bridget Moynahan is well, hot and thin as can be. Damn. But still cute. And Alan Cumming dressed up as a woman is funny to see. :)All in all, the story is kind of cute and the acting is good enough and there are good laughs to be had. And even though they are brother and sister, it is good to see the siblings having a good relationship with one another at their age in the movie, and competitive also.

(mx) wrote: To me, Saving Silverman is a true quintessential American comedy. Very modern and ahead of it's time, Jason Biggs performance is on par with what he did in America Pie and it's sequels. From a first time filmmaker who wanted to make a film for people who go to the movies and not the critics. There are movies with less critical acclaim I have gone on to make billions just on their own, put this movie on the self with those films and they fit in just fine. If you haven't this film, be sure to look out for the R rated version that is to me a major improvement

(kr) wrote: I appreciated all of the Latin dialogue, but I could barely get through this. My problem with Jarman is that so much of his stuff comes off as some kind of half-baked art project . . . and the unnecessarily pornographic imagery in this film doesn't help.
(it) wrote: It was always going to be hard to go to the lengths of the original again, but the story, although obvious is suited for a new 7 and having sturdy Yul Bryner as the lead means it is still a sturdy effort.
