Firstly, if you're going to have a story where someone with someone with an emotional/mental condition is struggling with their grip on reality it would be a good idea to eother handle that subject in a really eerie, atmospheric way, or in a way that is based on actual mental conditions. this movie did neither and failed in both realms. We follow the Scarecrow and Tin Woodsman from Oz across the Us, watching them interact with people . . . so we get the idea they are real, sorta. Then we keep seeing 'Dorothy' interact with them when they haven't even arrived yet. Even the dog loses all continuity. The makeup and effects were cut-rate, the writing and vision unclear and unconvincing. It looked like a 20 minute student film that got out of hand. I fell asleep the first time I tried to watch it. . . . and wished I hadn't gone back to finish it. It was a total Dog . . . and that has nothing to do with Toto.

Unless you're a Shu Qi fan and can never get enough of her pouting. guess the inspiratation behind it is good: A Forest of Death where people are drawn to commit suicide or disappear. But the Pang Brothers couldn't decide if they wanted it to be ghostly or alien or organic (ie, living breathing moving trees). So they make it all three to be safe.

Scott A (it) wrote: Some very good acting and an ending that defently goes against the 'happy ending!' And probably the only time I've ever seen a woman eaten out, literally eaten, in a movie!

Jeff W (kr) wrote: Pretty awful in every respect. Criminally overrated and barely enjoyable. Worth seeing if you're a blaxploitation fanatic (only after you've seen all the other, better, stuff), but otherwise, steer clear.

Josh H (de) wrote: I was completely enthralled with the original, but this edition was just boring. It was an adequate movie, but there just wasn't anything special to it. Clearly just trying to cash in on the success of the original ... a lame sequel before lame sequels were trendy.
