But honestly, there's nothing really terrible in it. Lots of the jokes don't hit their mark and no characters were down right terrible, but the whole time I was watching this film, I wanted to smack the haircut off Ben Foster's head. Also, Shane West's British Accent was beyond annoying and fake sounding. I have no idea if he is actually British but it was very annoying. The biggest sin of this film is that it is not funny and the chemistry was not there. I didn't buy for a second that Kirsten Dunst's character would like Ben Foster's. They both have little to no personality to make me believe that they would fall in love. Just skip this one guys!

Through a progression of lust, adultery, envy and obsession we witness the spiraling decline of morality and the untimely death of one unsuspecting husband.Viewed with an 'American eye', Ossessione seems a bit long-winded and meandering but Visconti's telling is nothing short of remarkable. The director's command of light and camera angles enables him to set a dark mood that is as much a tangible presence as any of the film's characters. A tragic tale masterfully told.
