This film evokes Valencia illegal gaming back in the seventies. A young peasant -Ferran- plays cards not much to make a living but as a distraction of his daily routine. Ferran meets a larger-than-life character -el chino- who happens to play cards for a living. This other guy is depicted as a Toni Manero look alike but his charisma an arrogance lead the innocent Ferran to join him in his schemes to make money to end up betting all on the next card table. At some point the action moves to Madrid and Ferran steps down losing track of El chino who takes on more dangerous games making a living out of Russian Roulette until the round gets loaded. Based on real events this is no Hollywood epic but it captures the desperation of the characters very effectively. . You can read more in Google, Youtube, Wiki

Life in the Abyss torrent reviews

Wiebke K (ca) wrote: The idea is an important one, and I expected way more from Whitaker and Garcia -- but their acting was as expressionless as the faces of the women who looked like they had all had one too many botox shots.

Dahna B (kr) wrote: Karmine Alers is exceptional!

Garth D (au) wrote: Shitty writing, shitty acting, stupid characters, terribly amateurish lighting, poor staging. Even the prospect of my out-of-nowhere girl/girl stuff couldn't push me past the 35-minute point of this piece of shit movie. The descriptions in other facebook reviews (ie. cannibal/vampire/werewolf/witch lesbians) are MUCH more interesting than ANYTHING that happens in what I saw from the movie. Why do people think that shooting on video/hd means that they don't have to light properly? WHY? Do they not do camera tests and realize that, if anything, hd makes bad lighting stand out MORE? On top of that, hd -when used lazily/improperly- looks SO fucking plain and artless. Ugh.

Bill L (es) wrote: Not a family film, but well acted. The Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan soundtrack helps the movie quite a bit!

Tasha J (ca) wrote: love it and all the songs

Neil P (de) wrote: it gets funnier every time I watch it.

Jon H (jp) wrote: The first one had its moments (like when Ginty heroically rescues a young man from being raped and tortured by a sadistic pedophile), but this one just plays it for laughs... but at least there are some good laughs.

Matthew J (kr) wrote: The pacing is painfully slow, but a good story with a kickass ending.

Orlok W (ru) wrote: No clich is left unturned in masterful showcase for Hope's talent--Fantastic artistry; very funny and visually thrilling!!

Andrey B (mx) wrote: A perfect Hitchcockian movie with everything brilliant in it: plot, cinematography, curious camera angles, menacing night scenes, noir setting, lightnings and shadows, thrilling music, fine performances.. to name a few.

Liam M (fr) wrote: Let's just start off an a nice note in saying that this is one of the worst movies ever put into production. I wasted an hour and a half of my life watching this train-wreck of a movie. This movie is the Batman and Robin of the Superman franchise, which has never been the same since this nightmare. Although Christopher Reeves doesn't do a bad job as Superman, nothing else was even average in this movie. The villain was absolutely horrible. Wouldn't you think that Superman of all people could defeat a computer hacker pretty easily. Ever since seeing this movie I have never been able to think of Superman the same way. I bet even Aquaman could defeat the villain in this movie. The opening scene was so bad that I almost cried to think of what could follow. The entire movie was awful and truly was the death of the Superman movie franchise.0.9/10
