Gracias Paris. 22/07/16 - 01:28 a.m

Kevin R (us) wrote: It's just a boy The majority of the Earth has been infected with a virus that turns people into vampires. It is highly disputed how the virus broke out, but what remains is pockets of humans that will do anything to survive. Some of the humans rely on government direction to survive while others have become hunters and scavengers that fight for the chance to return to normalcy. "Our options were running out. It was now us against the dark." Richard Crudo delivers Against the Dark in his directorial debut. The storyline for this picture was a mixture of I Am Legend, Resident Evil, and Blade. I am not sure Crudo delivered any of the concepts well. The vampires were fairly cool, but the script and cast was limited. The cast includes Steven Seagal, Jenna Harrison, Danny Midwinter, Emma Catherwood, and Skye Bennett. "People do what they need to do to survive." I came across this movie on Showtime while randomly flicking through the channels. I thought the premise was interesting and seeing Steven Seagal as the main character in this genre of film was more than I could pass up. Well, this movie is as bad as it sounds. Seagal seems unnatural in this film and the premise was executed poorly. Overall, I recommend skipping this picture. "I am going hunting." Grade: F+

Jonathan B (br) wrote: Engaging enough drama, which is a retelling of the Raymond Carver short story as previously featured in Robert Altman's 'Short Cuts', but transported to the Australian out back, expanded to its own feature length film.

Ben M (us) wrote: This is a must see for fans of horror movies. It is cheesy, yes. However it is incredibly well done cheese. Atmosphere, production quality, writing, gore, they're all woefully underrated in this movie. Academy award winner no. Underrated should-be-cult-classic horror film: absolutely, and absolutely fun to watch.

Laura M (fr) wrote: Based around the cliche's of two high school jocks fantasies about women this movie is far from original, but there are parts that will have you in stitches. Not the best plotline but if your looking for a corny feel-good movie on a rainy day this would be perfect.

For whatever reason I did not see this until I was way older and was incredibly disappointed. Ghoulies is a strange beast. It is a cheesefest that can be fun but it doesn't have enough scares to entertain adults and is too goofy. I am a fan of puppet creature features and Ghoulies does kind of fit that mold.

Emmie C (ru) wrote: My suggestion: get stoned before watching this movie. Its probably the only way its worth watching.

Jeff S (fr) wrote: When it's good, it's very good. When it's bad... Well, you know the rest. There are indeed moments of great drama and dialogue (I think just as good as "You're out of order" are Pacino's last couple of lines as he's dragged out of the courtroom). But there are also moments where the dialogue is stilted, the acting (thankfully, mostly by actors in bit parts) falls short, the music doesn't fit, and the scenes don't belong. Better edited, this movie could have gained another star in my mind.

Jakki J (it) wrote: A typical farce from the 60s, similar to the Doris Day/ Rock Hudson films and clearly one of the inspirations behind the movie "Down With Love" (starring Renee Zelwegger). Natalie Wood plays an author with a bestseller to help women snag the man of their dreams. Tony Curtis works for a tabloid magazine trying to get a scoop on her. Wood has never looked so beautiful and Curtis is cute, but I found the plot to be even more silly than the aforementioned movies. It even ends in an over-the-top car chase often found in comedies of this decade. Things get pretty ridiculous but it's worth a watch if you enjoy these types of films, as I do.

Andrew L (ru) wrote: Over acting, bad dialogue, technical flaws, flying trumpets on strings, just another "so-bad-its-good" film from Ed Wood.

Jenna I (ca) wrote: Amusing little film, nothing special but keeps you watching. Pacino and Depp worked well together though the two acting styles clashed a bit

Sean W (ag) wrote: I still really love this movie but it just dosnt compare to Funny Girl.

Nolan M (kr) wrote: A very dumb movie, that had some funny moments, but I would wait for DVD. It also didn't make much sense with the storyline and plot. Dane Cook was pretty funny though and Jessica Alba looked hot as always.

Tom D (au) wrote: This movie has a very 1960's feel to it. Clint Eastwood plays his usual strong male persona here. Eastwood is good he plays a fish out of water in New York City. If you are a Eastwood fan then you should check this one out.
