I was happy to get a really good history lesson, obviously with some writing liberties of course. But it seemed pretty accurate from what I can tell. My only gripe is how much blasphemy was in the film.

danny d (mx) wrote: one of kurosawa's earliest films, this one has his characteristic great diologue and thoughtful presentation. this is one of my least favorite kurosawa films, it starts well and sort of loses something along the way and the film drags you through things unnecessary to the story. but it was still very good in most respects. when one of kurosawa's worst films could be this good, its just more evidence that he was a master filmmaker.
Sapphire G (au) wrote: This was a really nice, feel-good movie, the dancing was great. I'm glad the story didn't take the turn I was fearing. Richard Gere was spectacular in one of his usual lovable characters. Stanley Tucci was hilarious, I just love that guy.

Gonalo S (au) wrote: Despite being shallow and not that well put together, Sphere is strangely appealing (no pun intended with the plot itself). Samuel L. Jackson has throughout the years get us used to watching him perform awesomely in really bad movies, this is another one on that list. But this being said, it doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the movie. I enjoyed watching it, it's entertaining enough, it's just not a good movie.
