(ag) wrote: The film ends and lets you find out the outcome. But the director has already helped the viewer a lot to understand what will actually happen.

Although many liberals might view this as a propaganda film, I have to disagree, as Rules of Engagement is a powerful looks at the incredibly hard decisions that have to be made by soldiers in the field. These decisions are rarely perfect and often reflect more on the stress of combat then on the character of the soldiers involved.

The Perfect Weapon... with unknown Jeff Speakman... co-starring Mako, James Hong, Mariska Hargitay and Cary Hiroyuki-Tagawa... This might also explain why I own almost the whole collection of the Deadly Hands of Kung Fu...Reminds me so much of Bloodsport and Kickboxer too... except with a better cast...

(it) wrote: This is my favorite film. It is outstanding, very dramatic. The story, the action scenes, everything about it is brilliant. I like the setting of the film during the Civil War Era and how John Dunbar helped the Sioux Indians.

(gb) wrote: (sigh)Where do I even begin?Back in 1993, people were excited to see if the Super Mario Bros would stay true to its source material. (1985 NES video game) Much to everyone's disappointment, it wasn't close at all. In a matter of fact, I'm not even going to explain the plot. It is too complex compared to the video game. The game was about an Italian plummer who must save princess peach from Bowser. (aka King Koopa) In the feature length film, it goes in depth in why he kidnapped her and how they got to this land with mushrooms, enemies ext. The actual film-making is almost even worse. It's jam-packed with horrible acting, terrible CGI, choppy editing, and an over-developed story. Also, please tell me why King Koopa is Dennis Hopper. Tell me why he is a germophobic business man with a flame-thrower, and last but not least, why was this movie made? This film destroyed peoples childhoods and much, much more.Over all the movie sucked 0 stars out of 5
(nl) wrote: Interesting premise if not formulaic production. Ethan Hawke & Lena Hedley play well but the movie is a tad predictable at times. However in this day and age of cinema when all movies play out pretty much the same, the purge is a refreshingly original premise, albeit playing against a twisted political narrative.

It is, however, a great source of Playboy-grade T&A, sex before AIDS, pre-funk hippie jargon and fairly typical 60's music, all encased in a road movie. Literally a road movie, as the map is a screen overlay as the tale begins.
