Jacob M (ru) wrote: It does put it's microscopic budget to good use and Jody Barton's manic performance is difficult to ignore, but, overall, 13/13/13 is terribly acted, cheesy, poorly written, and pretty stupid.

Jennifer C (gb) wrote: This is one of my favorite 100% guaranteed recommendations of fantastic 'horror films' that few people seem to have ever heard of. More or less a sorta-kinda pseudo-zombie film... if the zombie genre were to have a brilliantly twisted and witty second cousin marching to the beat of its own ingeniously creative, atypical drummer, this film is just amazing and entertaining and the most truly surprising addition to the horror/zombie genre I've yet to come across myself.I personally hate nearly all movies in the 'zombie genre'--slow and boring and difficult to believe have a remote possibility in hell of ever happening EVER as slow-walking, brain eating zombies would never have a chance in hell of doing shit in terms of qualifying as a genuine threat to any human being with half a brain and the capacity to walk somewhat briskly away from zombies.28 Days Later was a great film--because the zombies were basically crazed rage-monsters that were both rabid and capable of running fast after their prey. But most zombie films/TV series put me to sleep. This particular film is just a great film, period. And nothing you would expect... hardly a zombie film. It's a do not miss, trust me.

Peter F (it) wrote: A fascinating neo-noir filled with Coen-esque eccentrics (It is rightfully being compared to Blood Simple). It may be hard to sympathize with the main character, but maybe that's the idea.

Michael M (ru) wrote: A very good sequel to the first one. :)

Grey D (br) wrote: an older movie with a exellent twist and good ending. Baldwin is great in this and Rourke is as dark as ever

James W (de) wrote: A well paced and well acted thriller.

Michael L (br) wrote: like most of cassavetes films, it dragged though it had a bit more of a plot than it his earlier films. i will say that gena rowlands was never better than when she worked with her husband. and seymour cassel rocks. yeah, it was a really interesting rumination on love and its dysfunctions

Sherri R (ag) wrote: very funny romp, Doris and Rock are really wonderful together.

Matthew H (fr) wrote: The movie starts out with a bang, and is entertaining as well as well-made. But the longer New Jack City goes on, the more clichd, generic, and implausible it gets. Although its message is obvious but good, its execution is the downfall.

JAMES C (ag) wrote: Slow moving drama about the frailty of marriage centering on their 45th anniversary party. Charlotte Rambling and Tom Courtenay give solid performances as the couple. It has something to say, and says it eloquently.

Greg W (es) wrote: monroe/mitchum = good chemistry in preminger's only western

Shane D (fr) wrote: Day 2 well under way - begins with film #11 - Black Mama White Mama, holy moly, this film starts with a group nude shower scene, it's too early I don't think I'm ready!!! It's Sunday morning! Pretty sure that despite this films ascertations, womens prisons in the 70s werent rife with hot lesbianism and soapy showers! Actually, this was an interesting look at some classic Pam Grier. Pure 70s blaxploitation meets sexploitation in all of its glory. Based in a Manilla female correction facility and revolving around a prison break and a political revolution. Be prepared for lots of boobs and lots of people get shot in new and inventive ways...not for most, but will please a lot. I think I might need to get my hands on some Foxy Brown or Coffy next....
