Denise P (jp) wrote: Though the characters are painfully cliched, and they're not exactly elevated by impressive performances from the cast, The Hollow packs enough of an atmospheric punch on its haunted hayride to deliver a modernized -- not to mention bloody-fun -- update of the classic Halloween-themed short story on which it is based while bringing a legendary supervillain into the 21st century.

Lance L (fr) wrote: This movie has a very difficult premise that is handled amazingly well. Movies like this tend to have rambling dialogue that usually only is written so that the writer can feel clever. But the dialogue throughout Humpland is quite natural and believable. I won't say it isn't--at times--rambling. But c'est la vie. The heart of the movie is two guys who used to be close but have gone down very different paths. When their lives come together again they both start pushing each other's buttons as a way to become close again. It starts the very second they see each other. And it escalates. That need to be daring--and the desire to shake up their lives they fear are not what they needed--brings them to suggest doing the thing they "least want to do" in life. This is not a movie about repressed homosexuality. This is a movie about not letting your life get stale. It's honest, fun and offers realistic characters.

Anna B (br) wrote: Absolutely zero creativity on display here, it relies entirely on plot and character, both of which are less than compelling. It does work sometimes (Graham is better than you would think, and it can be charming and cute when it's not being uncomfortably awkward), but Moynahan's chemistry with anybody, male or female, appears to be nonexistent, and all the character arcs are glib and unconvincing. In the pantheon of lesbian cinema, it's above average. But that isn't saying a whole lot.

HungYa L (kr) wrote: Dave is probably my favourite Kevin Kline movie. Dave also led me to the knowledge that Frank Langella is a brilliant, excellent actor one can ever hope for. Sigourney Weaver proved that she can be so much more than just being that brave Ripley we used to know! The script is absolutely fantastic and though it could be slightly predictable as the story goes along. Dave is still one of the best. And it warms your heart, too!!

Morten (br) wrote: This movie is is structured quite fragmentaric. As the movie develop we put the pieces together and get a pretty clear idea about what is fiction, what is the past and what is the present - I like this part of the movie. However, the plot that sets this movie off quite good ends up being silly combined with some pretty horible acting from Arsinee Khanijan. Overall it was a pretty disappointing movie.
